Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2005 Ok, so the other day I was at home before going to college and I was turning off my laptop because I had to go catch a bus (to go to college). I started the shut down for the laptop but I was in a hurry so before it had finished shutting down completely, I just closed the laptop, to which I felt it would just go into standby mode. When I arrived at the place I stay for college 3 hours later, I tried to boot up the laptop but it wont turn on. I pluged in the adapter and nothing happends. When the adapter is out of the back and just the battery is on. When I push the power button the three lights at the front (the power, the ram and the battery) all flicker for a second but nothing else happens. The lights also flicker from time to time when I put the adapter wire in the back, but nothing happens then when I try to push the on button. When both the battery and the adapter are plugged in, nothing happens. I'm using a Dell Inspirion 1100 (or something along those lines). Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong and how I can get it to work again? Thanks.

chaosrage 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2005 Well I am. The same thing happened to my laptop. I left it charging when I went to bed. Then in the morning, I woke up, turned it on, and the lights flickered for a second and it went off. Now it won't charge or do anything. It's been about a week. Laptops suck. Just send it back if it's still under warranty and tell them to fix it. That's what I'm going to do one day.

chaosrage 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2005 Ok, I brought it to Best Buy for them to have a look at it. Apparently I was using the wrong adapter (a 33v instead of a 18) and it fried the insides. I went home, looked around the house, and found the 18v adapter. I don't know where the hell the other one came from. Hmm.. So now what do I do? Send it back with the 18v and say I don't know what's wrong with it?
