Saw Blonde Redhead/Interpol tonight.

Blonde Redhead fucking ruled so fucking much. They were a bit more spacy than I expected, but they actually played a ton of tracks from their new (completely delectable) album. They were INTO it to. Had the crowd in a semi orgasm, seriously. Fucking trippy, they used every guitar trick in the book, and made good use of backing synth, (or should htat be symph)which they made no bones about. Their last song

Interpol was pretty good, but not great. Like many new bands, they just don't have a wide variety of tunes. When I saw Franz F, I thought they wouldn't be that great since they seem to have such a clean studio sound, but they fucking ruled. Interpol was the oppositte. The lead singer sounded great, but the guitar work was very uninspired.

New enough, I guess. First proper album in 2002 counts. They do fit into the post-punk vibe going around of late, but I also think they do it better than pretty much anyone else current.

I've got my tickets to see team well-dressed on March 25. Not sure who's opening yet on that part of the tour, but they can't possibly be more uninteresting than Calla, who opened when I saw them in December '02. Yikes.

The Raveonettes opened for Interpol when I saw them in February of '03. Sucked, they did.

I'm seeing Wilco this Tuesday. I don't know if they have an opening act, which is a bit of a shame, as they usually have impeccable taste when it comes to tour support.
