Live from Saitama, It's Velociday Night!

Recommended Posts

Finally saw the WMXI Basic Instinct parody, and that was loads better than all the parodies released since the RR.

Why can't we see 5-10 sketch that good every week?

Because Jericho can't be everywhere?

Nah, I'm kidding. But it'd be pretty cool if they put as much effort in their backstage segments as they have in these spoofs.

What the hell is up with that ridiculous goose step Paul London does?

He's joining JBL's Cabinet.

Haha, Akio was grinning like an evil motherfucker when he threw London into the 'solid steel stairs.'

Completly unrelated question: Is Jamal related to Rikishi?

http://moonsaultfever.tripod.com/relatives/samoan.html Don't know how accurate

“The Wild Samoan” Afa: In our Samoan custom, we believe very strongly in family and respect for our elders. The day that my late uncle handed me the torch, I knew that it was my time to continue the family tradition that we started. After Peter came Sika and I. Our sons and nephews started out with Samu, Tonga Kid, the late Yokozuna, Rikishi, L.A. Smooth, The Rock, Rosie (Super Hero In Training), the Hamo Bull, Jamal, Afa Jr., and The Black Pearl. They have all followed in our footsteps. The Samoan dynasty does not end there. I have another nephew, Toa, who is working his way into the pro ranks, and in the very near future, my grandson Lance Anoa'i will be making a big name for himself. I feel very blessed when I sit back and watch my family carry on our name through the wrestling world. I am so proud of each one of them and what they have accomplished in their careers.

TNA Impact! is now on for us wrestling fans *snubs nose to SNL channel changers*

Akio/London was very good. They wrestled it in a much different style than their other three matches, wrestling slower but working more themes and such in because they didn't have to sprint through it. I loved the opening matwork with them trading control, setting up the equalness theme for the rest of the match. And from who else are you going to see a test of strength style lock up 5 minutes into a match, at least in the WWE? London murdered himself with the steel steps bump. Please Don't Die indeed. I also really liked London hitting 20 odd consecutive chops on Akio. London teasing the dive and hitting it later was good and helped get the crowd get more into the dive itself. Each hitting their own leg lariat to get into control was neat. And of course, beautiful 450 to end it.

I would have liked to have seen some plays to their earlier matches, especially when Akio was targetting London's neck. Seeing as in two of their earlier matches they had two big neck bumps (the death backflip by London that was overshadowed by Lita's chest landing, and the overhead belly to belly into the corner), I would have liked to have seen Akio bust out one of those. Still, that is a very minor thing.

Good match, really good in fact. I love Velocity.
