When they come back - Lita, Hardy, RVD

These three are all out with pretty bad injuries. All three are pretty critical, or if used correctly could be, to their respective parts of the programming they are on. So when they come back, what roles do you think they should play?--and why?

 

RVD--I'd like to see RVD get a good US title push. Let him once again establish himself as a good wrestler. Have him start off against someone like John Cena, or whoever is the champ at the time, have a good 2 or three month feud with them. Let him win the belt, and have a good, not too long, reign with it. Then, I would test him in the main event. He needs to be a heel, so if someone like Mysterio had the belt when he returned, that would make a perfect opportunity for a heel turn from him. RVD just isn't the same as a face, opposed to a heel, in my opinion.

 

Matt Hardy--I'd try and put him in the upper mid card, with guys like Christian, Jericho, and Shelton. His style fits theirs to a tee, and he could really make a name for himself there. Bring Hardy back as a face, and have him feud with Christian, and re-establish himself, due to being off for as long as he has.

 

Lita--Bring her back as a MANAGER to Matt. She's a good wrestler and all, but she's become just too much of a liability with all of her injuries in recent matches of hers. Have her manage Matt. Kane could get involved sometime(not right off the bat), Hardy vs. Kane again, and a possible Lita heel turn on Matt. But anything but a wrestler for Lita, she's just too much of a risk in my opinion.

This is the only time that Rob Van Dam has been out with an injury for any meaningful amount of time since coming to World Wrestling Entertainment. It's a blessing in disguise because he'd gotten really stale and they need to bring him back after a long break with a huge bang. He really needs to go heel, and if they put Paul Heyman with him as a manager and he does something shocking when he comes back like punking out Rey Mysterio and giving him the Van Terminator, he could be an instant main event level heel and one of the most interesting main eventers on either roster.

Or do you think they'll stick him with Viscera as a team or just leave him on the sidelines til the huge contract expires.

Lita really should not come back as a wrestler and should never be a staple in the women's division. I know it may not even be around by the time she comes back, but if it is, keep her out of it. I'd even say cut the cord and fire her if she wasn't so popular. Keep her in a Hardy Boy's chick role, like she was back in the day.

 

I don't think she should manage Matt though. In my opinion, he was best as Mattitude on Smackdown. Before that, he was a Hardy boy. After that, he was, uh, what the hell was he with Lita? Lita's boyfriend? Dude deserves a chance to make it on his own and not let Lita overshadow him.

 

RVD will hopefully be back by the ECW PPV and should main event that. From there, we'll see I guess. I'm hoping for at least a main event run. I'm not holding my breathe at a title run though, unless it's the US or Tag title.

Well, actually, it's more stupid fans. The WWE just put it out there, and the fans decide who's face/heel. I just imagine Hardy would get jeered for TOF'ing Lita, rather than cheered. I do think this would be the best role for him once he returns, though.

How did they handle RVD's injury on TV? Did they pinpoint a moment he got hurt or just say, "well, RVD's hurt"?

 

Here's what I'd do. Give Mysterio the US Title while RVD is out (this is assuming Cena takes the world title). When RVD comes back, he wants to start his team with Rey back up, but Rey shoots him down because he's too busy defending the US title to go after the tag belts. RVD plays it off with a, "hey, that's cool man" but then turns on Rey a few weeks later, maybe when Rey comes to him for backup against a heel duo. This is going to require a golden interview trashing the fans and guys like Rey for his lack of success on SD!, saying he was content to be a fun guy and entertain the fans but he got nothing out of it. Hopefully RVD can make a return to the aloof, semi-pissed arrogance of his ECW days rather than the happy stoner guy he's become. Bringing Paul Heyman in as his manager a few weeks later would probably seal the deal, as the fans hate Heyman, and it wouldn't force RVD to stretch himself on the mic, where he's liable to get the fans back on his side by accident.

 

This would also require RVD to modify his moveset, something he's definitely capable of, but by his own admission hasn't had motivation, or pressure from management, to do. His ring work would be the key to keeping him a strong, believeable heel, as he really needs to be a dick in the ring and can't do stuff like rolling thunder and the monkey flip out of the corner. I'd make it more strike/submission based, with whatever mean-spirited wrinkles he can throw in, eye gouges, chokes, etc. Early on, teases of his popular spots without payoffs should get good heat as well.

 

After the feud with Rey, transition into a program with Guerrero, and if the character is hot enough, maybe with Cena over the world title.

He came out with a big knee brace and could barely walk. Him and Rey defended their titles again Eddie/Booker, Luther/Jintrak and the Bashams. When it was Rey/Rob and the Bashams left, one of them tripped Rob up and slammed the ring steps against his knee. He was stretchered out, Rey lost and it hasn't really been mentioned since.

As for RVD, when he returns he *must* get a World title push. It'll probably be his last chance before they forget about him again, so they've gotta use it. They can't blow their opportunity by putting him in the US title hunt again.

For all the fact that I find Lita VERY attractive, despite her increasing chubbiness and wrinkledness, she isn't and shouldn't be the mainstay of anything. I don't mind watching her in the ring (and not just through aforementioned attractiveness), but come on... she sucks on the mic, she's not great in-ring even for a Diva and generally... no.

 

Matt Hardy on the other hand - WHY hasn't this man been pushed? He put on some great matches in the first US Title tournament and is capable of portraying both a vicious heel and a sympathetic face. He's not the best interview in the world, but neither is Benoit. Granted Matt isn't the technical wrestler Benoit is, but this is WWE-style, and he's grown up with that.

 

RVD - nope. Sorry. He should be pushed and it'd be good if he was, but he always is and will be an ECW product and Vince will always see Heyman when he looks at him. If he's forced to work WWE-style he won't be the same, and if he can't work that style he won't be pushed.

Well, allegedly. Instead of the pseudo-sixpack she had for a while it seems there's a little more flesh down there now. Personally I can deal with that on a girl. And even if her breasts are implants, they're much more realistic-looking than the other Divas, so i can live with that too. And I still think she's pretty. I seem to be the only one though, as everyone else here has a thing for Molly-with-the-arse-the-size-of-Quebec. That's TOO much flesh.

It should be revealed that the baby Hardy hired Snitsky abort was actually Matt's, & that Lita only told him it was Kane's out of fear. So, in effect, Matt had his own child rubbed out. Then he goes insane or something & by May it's never mentioned again.

That would never work because as soon as he started getting cheered, they would make him turn into a typical babyface. Just like they do with every heel except for Austin and Rock.

But he can. Case in point, KOTR 2002 with Jericho. He's not the best at it, but he was doing pretty well for a guy that had to change his whole style a year before that. I'm sure he would've got even better at it and will get better if they ever decide to use him.
