k thx 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 The game looks to be full of neat little touches. The controversial incident screen is hella fun. As is being able to put your picture into the game. After a dozen games, I've taken Aldershot into mid table obscurity, mainly because the only plaer I was able to buy didn't score for 8 games. He got a status saying he was determined not to let his lack of goals affect him. When he did score, a message came up saying how he managed to end his goal drought and hadn't scored for over 10 hours. Nice touches.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 I love the Incidents, beat Orient 1-0 with a Brooker header which their boss thought was offside, he complained to all the press about the Decision, the Replay didn't really show anything, maybe for a future version they'll have the line going across to make it easier for us to see. If it happens to me I'll stay quiet, don't want a touchline ban with the Assistant I've got.
k thx 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 Actually, I really want to see what a touchline ban entails. An AI manager had it on my game, but I didn't have the chance. The only contoversial incident I had, the opposition were offside when they scored a last minute winner (I was down to 10 men as well-bastards). I complained that the officials were useless, and all that happend was a message saying the FA were keeping silent on the matter. It looks as though the lower th league, the worse the officials and the more controversy. Which will make LLM fun.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 When the FA stay silent it's because they agree with the complaining manager. When you get a touchline ban You have no Control over your matches and your Ass Man does tactics and team talks
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 This all sounds so great. I'm not going to download the demo, as i'm actually on my way to reaching my life long (ie since the last game) dream of taking Derby to the Champions League. I knocked out Barcelona 6-0 on aggregate in the first knock out stage. Now it's Madrid. They don't come easier.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 There's lots more off the ball incidents, had 2 Elbows, 1 Headbutt and a Kick all by the other team. The Opp Instructions are great as well, I was against Cardiff and had McPhail Tightly Marked with Hard Tacking on him, after about an hour he did a two footed tackle and was sent off. Doing well on my City game(2nd), signed Matt Jansen and Sean Evans(Man U Left Winger) and play a direct style with Showunmi/Brooker and Jansen/Jevons up front. Middlesbrough(Chosen ahead of Charlton and Reading) are my Parent Club and Sligo Rovers(Ahead of Boston) my Feeder Team. Edit: Dean Grubb's done his ligaments in the Demo and is out for 10 months, in Real Life he's just come back from the same injury.
k thx 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 Yeah, opposition instructions are great. I played Chelsea in the leagu cup as Pompey, and they were fielding an inexperienced left back. I told my players to close him down, and ended up getting a goal from a poor backpass he made. Still loss, but I was expecting that. Touchline bans scare me. Greatly. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2006 I don't know, it has the potential to be great. Imagine if it's the final of something, or the last day of the season and you need a win to stay up/win the league. Last game, your assistant manager is in charge, then out of nowhere, when you're 1-0 down, with 20 minutes to go, he takes your star striker off and puts on another defender. Imagine the heat on that.

Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2006 I'm guessing 2007 is a pc hog? I tried installing the Strawberry version but it took forever to install and then kept stalling. I think i'll just wait for the official version.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2006 "PC Strawberry - This file includes playable leagues from Brazil, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Spain & Sweden, and Danish, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norweigan, Portuguese & Swedish languages, with all relevant kits, player photo's and graphics." Try the Vanilla, just the English League and Language, it's about 80mb.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2006 I'm in 2009/2010 season and Manchester City have become a European superpower. I don't know how this has happened, their squad is full of players worth between £4m and £6m, yet they go on 40 match unbeaten streaks.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 Just preordered my copy of FM07, having played the demo which seemed pretty cool, if tough. In FM06 I was able to get Forest back to the premiership in 2 seasons, in the new game I could barely score a goal with them.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 As every season passes, the FM games seem to get more in depth. This makes it harder. Back a few years ago, you only needed the 11 best players and you won everything.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 The players have had their stats marked a lot lower than previously, which is quite cool. Makes the really special players that bit more important.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 How would you rate the research for your teams? This year's for us is way better than before, they've included more of the Academy players and given players like Orr and Noble big improvements. One downside is about 7 Sell ons not included(cause we haven't disclosed percentage), could annoy me if Cotts or Lita get big moves.
Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2006 Ok, someone give me some good tactics/ formations. I started (yet) again, this time as wolves and i'm getting my ass handed to me. The earlier games were soo much easier than 2006 & 2007
Anorak 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2006 As every season passes, the FM games seem to get more in depth. This makes it harder. Back a few years ago, you only needed the 11 best players and you won everything. Good old Champ Manager 97/98 with it's world class French schoolboys and unknown Scandinvian strikers who cost 200k and scored 30 a season in the premiership. I'm getting FM 2007 tomorrow morning. Didn't bother with the 06 version but now i'm ready for an update. Hope it's not too hard and the RKC Waalwijik board are still nice and reasonable.

Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 Yeah, I think my machine's not going to be able to handle it. I've been waiting 5 min just to get to the 1st screen (after the lets kick racism out of football stuff).
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 Some pics from my City game so far, only editing was Keogh being Competent at RB, Marcus to Yeovil(because they pay 50% of his 6,000 wages during the Loan) and some Sell On Clauses. League Table Squad Results 1 Results 2 Transfers In Loans In Transfers Out Loans Out 8-0 Against Rovers City vs. Rovers Player Ratings Jennison Goal Drought Got the Parry money because he was "High Profile" and the Chairman paid the extra 875,000 out his own pocket. Villa are my Parent team, no 1st option in the Deal which is good cause they're scouting JMW. Weston were the best team I could get as Feeder, that'll change first chance I get though. The Friendlies were Done by Assistant Keith Millen who soon after got the Darlington job. That Jennison article is unfair, that Rovers match was the 1st time I've played him up front, he's usually my Impact Sub.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2006 I've just installed FM07 and although i've only played two friendly matches, its just as good as the previous with some extra touches. I'm going to see about this feeder lark.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2006 where can I find out info about this? Is the MLS in this game as well, or no? (Only ask because I want to re-name my hometown Dynamo back to what they were originally going to be called..)
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2006 Yeah they are. This game officially is the best PC game ever made.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2006 Welp, I officially purchased this on Amazon about an hour so ago. As a completely new player to the franchise, what are some pointers I can get from y'all? Like, is it better (just to get my feet wet) to pick a team like Man U or Chelsea, just to understand the mechanics of it all, or would I be better off picking a team in the MLS and trying to move them up the ranks in the world? Any insight would be helpful.

Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2006 Took Forest up to Championship first time, then sacked after 16 games...ok, my record was W2 D2 L12, but still, annoying... I enjoy complaining about the referee and pushing my luck with the FA.
