The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 So lemme see if I understand your viewpoint... Brock Lesnar beat the Undertaker, but since Undertaker's hand was "injured", and even though Taker used the hand anyway, it's not a clean win, even though HitC matches are anything goes. That about right?
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Basically, as Take was going to use his 'broken' hand anyway, I see no point in having them mention it/make the angle if not to protect him. Having the commentators saying "and the Undertaker cannot use that broken hand", even when he occassionally is, means that Brock was not put over as cleanly as he could have been, as he didn't beat a fully fit and able Taker as the commentry has been continously pointing out. Brock taking Takers cast off his hand and working on it adds to this, in my opinion as taking away from any clean job from Take. The fact the Undertaker later was punching away and did a chokeslam with his magically healing hand means nothing as the commentators are putting over his broken hand earlier in the match, as is Brock, but working on in with a chair etc. Beating an un-injured Undertaker is more clean then beating a injured Undertaker. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Re Summerslam 1998: If Austin kicked/punched him in the balls, I wouldn't count it. If he dropped UT crotch first onto the ropes, that's a legal move. he punched him as he was coming down from his ooooooold schooooool move. if you want to count it, he was pinned cleanly after a Chokeslam from Kane in the Four-Way Tag Team match before Summerslam 98. Now I remember... which reminds me, what did they call the move before it was "Old School/Vintage Undertaker"? Seemed like they never gave it a real description other than "Undertaker off the ropes"
eiker_ir 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 i just remember the commentators always saying something like: "OMG look at the balance this big guy has!!!" never actually naming the move.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Mankind actually defeated Taker in the Buried Alive match, thanks to the debut of The Executioner coming out and aligning himself with Foley.

eiker_ir 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Yoko needed help from like 10 guys to win that. Taker won the buried alive match, after the match he was attacked and buried by the Executioner, Mankind, and some other guys like HHH, Goldust and i don't remember who else. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 "Put over cleanly" I don't get it. If someone was "put over", does it matter if it was clean? I'd rather someone "go over" with interferance than "win" cleanly and end up nowhere. I think the better question is "has Taker ever given up his spot to another wrestler?" Jericho2000Mark 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 WWF @ Worcester, MA - Centrum - July 29, 1991 WWF Superstars taping: WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan pinned the Undertaker with a roll up after Taker accidentally hit Paul Bearer on the apron WWF @ Lake Placid, NY - June 16, 1997 (2,773) Raw is War: Farooq & Kama (w/ D-Lo Brown) defeated WWF World Champion the Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) & Ahmed Johnson when Kama pinned the Undertaker at 6:07 after Ahmed refused to tag in to his partner, allowing the Undertaker to fall victim to a pinfall; after the bout, Ahmed hit the Pearl River Plunge on Taker before joining the NOD on the stage and raising his fist in solidarty; prior to the bout, Farooq stated that two new NOD members would be introduced; Kama was the first, Ahmed the second; during the bout, the commentary team pondered who would be the second choice and listed the Junkyard Dog, Abdullah the Butcher, Mr. Hughes, and Butch Reed as possibilities The previously mentioned 3 on 2 handicap match. About the Hogan match, Taker was distracted after hitting Bearer...that's not clean. That's like saying Rock put over Hurricane clean a couple years ago, even though it was Austin's distraction that allowed Hurricane to win. Being beaten in handicap matches shouldn't count as clean losses if the guy who lost has the handicap. "Yoko needed help from like 10 guys to win that" I think he was being sarcastic. Guest Fook Report post Posted February 14, 2005 Undertaker lost cleanly at Summerslam 94. Of course, it was to himself, but hey, beggers can't be choosers.
