Is this thread just going to be people picking out the pictures they like best and posting them? People can just go to the site and see that.

If I wanted to be a dick, I would show this to my girlfriend. Her friend just got child protective services called on him because his house is a shithole.

Anyone from the old Rantsylvania board knows my feelings on Superman, post 1950's.

DC should *not* have been surprised that Supes does not get looked at in the same sense of respect from fans like Batman or Captain America when there were stories like these *covering* up public paper stands.

Cute. Real cute.

Batman had some pretty crazy covers and stories himself after the CCA (Comic Code Authority) was founded. In fact, the CCA was a big reason why many comics had to resort to cheap stunts and gimmicks. Here are just a few of the crazy stories that Batman appeared in:

It's a good thing that guys like O'Neil and Miller helped bring the character out of this period.

Batman was *really* bad after about the mid 1950's when the Comics Code went into effect. It wasn't until Julie Schwartz took over the editor reigns in 1966 that Batman stopped fighting space aliens and having multiple costume changes used as a cover gimmick. Once Neal Adams took over drawing Bats, the book had finally reached a darker tone with it's stories than it had 5 years previously.

Agreed. My favorite era of Batman was the O'Neil and Adams one. I pretty much loved the Bronze Age of comics in general.
