Even if HHH was somehow paralysed or incapable of having a ** match, I bet he'd get atleast one more title win. If he stays somewhat healthy, he will either get the same amount or more than Flair.

He'll be like Undertaker. Should be retired but is going on, putting on terrible matches and he still doesn't want to put over new talent.

Except that Taker has proven that he can still go. The man hasn't had a terrible match since early '02. I will agree with the "putting over new talent" thing, though.

I guess you've not seen a lot of his matches since 2002.

Does June 2002 count as early 02?

What about Sunday's show?

The Undertaker hasnt put on a terrible match since 2002?

The same undertaker who pratically swept the 2004 WON Year end awards for worst match of the year?

He can still go in the sense he can work but he's appeal beyond the enterance is gone. A negative ratings risk i.e he LOSES viewers, kills the crowd after the dramatic intro and the two-three big spots(old school rope walk, chokeslam and the tombstone)...but the man has put on shitty match after shitty match this past couple years...

Granted he has a fair share of good to great matches but to say he hasn't had a terrible match since 2002 is completely wrong.

I remember the ratings really swelled when Kane took his mask off, as it seemed people were interested in his new character advancement.

And then, well, "here came the money"...

Big Dave needs to do the THUMBS DOWN more often.

JR: Batista what do you think of the new guy Chris Master

*adjusts sunglasses and then does the thumbs down*

Batista: It looks like Chris is the master of the botch signature move

*sarcastic laugh*

It's pretty tough to draw ratings when you're always facing people like Heidenreich.

If they put him in a decent feud against someone with a smidgen of credibility he'd do fine. Yeah, he's "main evented" a couple PPVs lately, but it's really not his fault if he doesn't draw against the Dudleys or in a transition feud with JBL.

And his opponents are the major problem with the ring work too. He might not be able to carry a shitty worker at this point, but I bet that if the Orton match goes down at Mania, he'll hit at least three and a half stars.

The fact is that Smackdown needs the Undertaker right now, because if Angle retires, he'll be the only one left with any name value at all. Smackdown may be a B-show right now, but if Undertaker and Angle were gone, it would turn into something more like a C-show. The ratings would fall twice as far as they have so far in a matter of months.

Perhaps there would be more 'name' stars on Smackdown! if UT had bothered to put one wrestler -- anyone at all -- over in a match.

Of course, by 'put over', I mean to say that a wrestler has to dominate UT for the majority of the match and pin him cleanly and swiftly, not UT's method of 'putting over' Jeff Hardy in 2002 by crushing him in the match and then raising his hand.

Yeah, Heidenreich would have been a perfect big name on SD! against HBK and Triple H.

I feel vindicated after telling people that Batista doesn't need workrate to be a draw.

I suppose that the people who watch him now and cheer for him like mad, are going to jump of the bandwagon when they see he doesn't wrestle like Eddy or Benoit, huh? :rolls eyes:

And Triple H will get the praise for this.

And Triple H deserves the praise for this. He pushed for Batista and this whole story line, and Batista would still be nothing if not for him.

If things work out, Triple H will actually have made a star. Who would have thought?

Edit: Not to take any credit away from Batista, as he's certainly done his part. Triple H got him noticed though... and gave him the rub with this angle. (Assuming he loses at WM).

I've enjoyed Batista since he was Levithan and felt he had more charisma in his pinky than Orton had in his whole body.

So no way am I jumping off the wagon, I've been on this sucker from the start. Anyone that styling deserves all the praise he gets.
