The matches throughout the night were determined by a spin of the wheel and it was determined that Lita would face Victoria in the not-so-friendly confines of a steel cage. It was the first women's Steel Cage Match in RAW history and it looked like Lita had things well in hand. Matt Hardy made a surprise appearance, but how would he factor into the outcome? Trish Stratus vs. Stacy Keibler WWE Women's Championship Bra & Panties Paddle on a Poll Match WWE Monday Night RAW October 7th, 2002 This was the night that RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff introduced the concept of RAW Roulette, and the fans were definitely happy he did when they found out that Trish Stratus would be facing Stacy Keibler in a Bra and Panties Match. In addition to this, it was also a Paddle on a Pole Match and the Women's Championship was on the line. With so much at stake, which Diva would come out on top? Kane & The Hurricane vs. Chris Jericho & Christian vs. Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam vs. Bubba Ray Dudley & Spike Dudley World Tag Team Championship Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match WWE Monday Night RAW October 7th, 2002 By the luck of the wheel the fans in Las Vegas, NV were treated to a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match during RAW Roulette pitting the champs, Kane and The Hurricane against Chris Jericho & Christian, Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam and Bubba Ray & Spike Dudley. Before the match, Hurricane was taken out by Triple H & Ric Flair, so Kane had to defend the titles by himself. Could he pull off the upset and hold onto the championship? Shane McMahon vs. Chris Jericho WWE Monday Night RAW August 25th, 2003 This match was set up by Mr. McMahon himself after his son Shane refused to show him the proper respect. The heated match went to a no-contest, but the action didn't stop there. Kane showed up and a brawl between the Big Red Monster and Shane erupted leading to one of the two falling into a dumpster engulfed in flames. Which competitor fell to their fiery demise? Brock Lesnar vs. The Big Show WWE Championship WWE SmackDown! June 12th, 2003 Big Show and Brock Lesnar were no strangers to each other. The two were firmly entrenched in a brutal rivalry, and Lesnar was putting his WWE Championship on the line on this edition of SmackDown! In one of the most shocking moments in SmackDown! history, Lesnar hit a superplex off the top rope and when the two massive Superstars hit the mat, the ring collapsed in a site that has to be seen to believe! WWE vs. NFL Battle Royal WWE WrestleMania 2 April 2nd, 1986 At WrestleMania 2, several NFL football players decided to see if the could hold their own with the WWE Superstars in a Battle Royal. The likes of William "Refrigerator" Perry, Bill Fralic and Russ Francis did an admirable job, but in the end it was the master of the Battle Royal that came out on top - WWE Hall of Famer, Andre the Giant. Tazz vs. Mikey Whipwreck WWE Monday Night RAW February 24th, 1997 This was the memorable edition of RAW when ECW invaded WWE and had several matches on the show. Perhaps the most memorable of those matches was Tazz vs. Mikey Whipwreck. Tazz put on a suplex clinic throughout the match and introduced WWE fans to the Tazzmission. During the match, Sabu also made an appearance and took a breath-taking leap off the RAW logo that stood atop the entrance way. Macho Man Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair WWE Championship WWE WrestleMania VIII April 5th, 1992 Randy "Macho Man" Savage won his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania IV and four years later he was gunning for his second. As if Savage needed more motivation, Ric Flair proclaimed to the world that he and Elizabeth had been an item before she and Savage were and that he would unveil a revealing centerfold of the First Lady of Wrestling after the match. Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna/Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna WWE Championship/WWE Championship WWE WrestleMania IX April 4th, 1993 Thanks to the dastardly Mr. Fuji, Yokozuna was able to defeat Bret "Hit Man" Hart for the WWE Championship after Fuji threw salt in Hart's eyes. Hollywood Hogan came down to ringside to check on Hart, and in an unprecedented occurrence Yokozuna challenged Hogan for a title match on the spot. With Hart's blessing, Hogan accepted. Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin Submission Match -- Ken Shamrock is the Special Guest Referee WWE WrestleMania 13 March 23rd, 1997 Bret "Hit Man" Hart took on the Texas Rattlesnake at WrestleMania 13 in a Submission Match with Ken Shamrock as the special guest referee. Stone Cold was busted wide open during the match, and Hart mercilessly worked over his leg. Hart finally hooked in the Sharpshooter, but Stone Cold refused to give up. Stone Cold eventually passed out from the pain and Shamrock was forced to call the match in favor of Hart. However, winning the match wasn't enough for Hart. Dusty Rhodes & The Road Warriors vs. Ivan Koloff & The Powers of Pain WCW Clash of the Champions March 27th, 1988 This was the first ever Clash of the Champions, and these two sides couldn't settle their differences in any ordinary match. Ric Flair & The Giant vs. Hulk Hogan & Macho Man Randy Savage WCW Clash of the Champions January 23rd, 1996 Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan vs. The Giant were the two biggest rivalries going in WCW at this time, so it only made sense that Flair and Giant and Hogan and Savage team up to try to settle the score at the Clash of the Champions. When it was all said and done, one of the teams came out on top, but the war was far from over. Here, NFL superstar Kevin Greene made the first of many appearances for WCW, standing in the corner of Hogan & Savage. Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, & The Mystery Third Man vs. Sting, Macho Man Randy Savage, & Lex Luger WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 July 7th, 1996 This match will go down as one of the most famous matches in WCW history. It was the night that the n.W.o. was born and Hollywood Hogan turned his back on the fans. With Scott Hall and Kevin Nash looking in control, Hogan came down to the ring as everyone thought he would to save WCW. Instead Hogan dropped the big leg on a fallen Randy Savage and WCW was never the same. Jeff Jarrett vs. Diamond Dallas Page vs. David Arquette WCW World Heavyweight Championship Triple-Tier Steel Cage Match WCW Slamboree 2000 May 7th, 2000 Following the release of Ready to Rumble, a movie starring David Arquette and featuring several WCW wrestlers, David Arquette shockingly won the WCW Championship in a tag team match on an edition of Thunder. He put the belt on the line in a Triple Tier Steel Cage Match at Slamboree against Jeff Jarrett and Diamond Dallas Page. After battling through the three levels, Page looked primed to grab the title, but David Arquette turned on him. Jarrett was able to capitalize and win the Championship. The action didn't stop there, though, as Mike Awesome and Kanyon brawled after the match. The end result has to be seen to be believed! Goldberg vs. Hollywood Hogan WCW World Heavyweight Championship WCW Monday Nitro July 6th, 1998 WCW United States Champion Goldberg was an unstoppable force. He had run through everything and everyone that was thrown at him. He had already won the United States Championship and was boasting one of the most impressive undefeated streaks ever. After going through every member of the nWo he finally got his shot at Hollywood Hogan and the WCW Championship. In one of the most memorable moments in Nitro history, Goldberg overcame the odds and kept his streak in tact, adding the WCW Championship to his resume. Tazz vs. Mikey Whipwreck WWE Monday Night RAW February 24th, 1997 Extremely short, not very worthwhile other than the historical aspect. Macho Man Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair WWE Championship WWE WrestleMania VIII April 5th, 1992 Excellent, but that goes without saying. Bret Hart vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper WWE Intercontinental Championship WWE WrestleMania VIII April 5th, 1992 Another excellent match. Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna/Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna WWE Championship/WWE Championship WWE WrestleMania IX April 4th, 1993 A complete farce and totally foolish. One of the worst main events in WM history. Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow WWE WrestleMania XI April 2nd, 1995 Good for a celebrity match. I especially want the ring exploding match because it was the first time I watched Smackdown! high and I went bonkers. Triple H vs Cactus Jack, Falls Count Anywhere from 1997 Jeff Hardy vs The Undertaker, Ladder match from 2002 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Kane from 1998 Were the nominees. Austin vs. Angle WWF Title match from late-2000 was much better than any of that crap, even with the stupid run-in from a healthy HHH 8 days after being dropped 25 feet in the air upside down in a car. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 The annoying thing about this month (and I knew it would happen when March rolled around) is the best matches are things I already have on VHS and DVD (WrestleMania). The Ready to RUmble match is an interesting one, though... I only saw it through a poor video quality download that I beleive had German announcers dubbed over but it was an entertaining match.
