SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Coles has been traded for Moss. Being a huge Washington fan, I personally like this trade alot, and I'm happy its gone through. Trade went through a few hours ago, just pending on the physicals to take place on Monday. Other than that, its done.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 You're getting a deep threat, speedy reciever, won't go across the middle as much as Coles, but will get more yards, good punt returner, explosive, class act, stand up guy.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Wasn't Coles with the Jets before? He performed really well but turned out to be a free agent bust?
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 He has an injury which is why I don't like this trade much added to the fact that now we have no deep threat whatsoever in an offense that is going to be ran by Heimerdinger.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Is it a chronic injury? If not, I'd imagine he'd be good by the beginning of the season, like six months from now.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Yes it's a chronic injury. Bradway just doesn't get it.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Not really a good move for either team. That's a serious downgrade for the Jets and Washington should be trying to get an offensive line not receivers.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 I don't understand the trade for the Jets. Coles wanted out of Washington which should have given the other team in the deal some leverage with it. When both players are at their best it's no more than an even trade. Since Coles left New York Moss has proven to be a much more consistent receiver though. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Santana wasn't very consistent last year, but like Coles, he was bothered by an injury (hamstring). I'd take Coles over Moss if both were healthy, but Coles isn't the reciever we need. He will get you conversions on 3rd downs, but he's not the deep threat like Moss, and we already have a posession reciever in McCariens.

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted March 5, 2005 the reason the Jets wanted Coles is because he's better than Moss. That doesn't seem so hard to understand really.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 Pretty much. And they also didn't want to lose Moss at the end of the year and get nothing for him, since it seems like they don't want to pay him.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 I think this is a good trade for Gang Green. Coles, healthy, is a more complete reciever than Moss, and paired with McCariens that's a tough short-mid passing game to stop. They'll find a speed guy for deep routes, I have no doubt about that, maybe in the draft. They're going to continue to run a conservative, clock control offense, so a top of the line deep threat isn't a necessity for them. I think it makes them better. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 I'm not so sure they'll continue with that type of offense with Heimerdinger. But they still need another wide reciever anyway. And a new punt returner.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Well, they have the good defense and offensive players in place to be a very good conservative team, especially considering Curtis Martin is the centerpiece. I can't say what they will or won't do, but it seems silly to play run and gun with that roster. I don't know much about Heimerdinger, but a good coordinator adapts his system to the players and not the other way around.
