Has anyone played this?

It's been out for a while for PS2, but the Xbox version was just released with online play. That's the version I have, but I haven't taken it online yet since I realized my SF skills from 10-12 years ago have eroded greatly and I kind of suck now.

It's really a fun game, though, despite the fact that it's ridiculously hard. For $30, you get Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting: The Anniversary Edition, a "new" game combining SFII, SFII Turbo (SNES), SFII Champion Edition (Genesis), and Super SFII into one package. You also get the Street Fighter anime movie, which is pretty badass.

So, is anyone playing?

Going to cheat by doing the cheap throw strategy, eh?

No... Throws are only cheap if you do them repeatedly, which I don't. Also, if you know what you're doing, it's easy to block them.

I just like using Chun-Li. It's better than choosing Ryu, Ken, or Blanka like everyone else.

Actually, I'd use Cammy, but she's not in 3S.

Chunners is in every incarnation because she's insanely popular in Japan, possibly the most popular Street Fighter character over there. Hardcore fans would likely riot if she was ever left out (and, in fact, they did when she wasn't included in the original Street Fighter 3).

So what's Hyper Street Fighter II like? That's the only part of the package that is available over here in Australia, which sucks. At least we get Capcom Fighting Jam!

Er...

It's Super Turbo, with the SFII, Champ Edition, Turbo, and Super versions of the characters selectable as well (when applicable).

So you can pit C.E. Sagat against Super Ryu, and so on.

You can also play as the "Super" versions of characters that were included in Super Turbo, and with a code you can play as the versions of Honda, Chun-Li, and Vega that could "store" their charge supers. Akuma is in but you have to use that long, old code found in the arcade versions to use him.

and, in fact, they did when she wasn't included in the original Street Fighter 3

Didn't stop 'em from leaving her out of 2nd Impact. :P

We have a SAVAGE office league here, which suffice it to say I'm not a part of. Hardcore SF players are just frightening in their devotion…
