Mr. S£im Citrus Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 A very short card for a Pay-Per-View, but what was on the show was very good. Congratulations to Austin Sly for winning the USJL, and Cortez and Toxxic for retaining; I don't know what the situation was regarding no-shows and whatnot, aside from the ME, so I won't speak on it, but you guys wrote great stuff. And, as a special shout-out to IL, Stryke, Spike, Toxxic and Dace, all of whom predicted me to lose the Tag Titles... :: does crotch chop :: NYAH-NYAH-NYAH! 3-0 lifetime at From the Fire! What's up?
Chuck Woolery Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Just wanted to say that for what it's worth, the Double The Caged Pleasure match was my personal match of the night. All three matches that I received used the stip very well, but Wild and Dangerous' match was that much further ahead of the other two in terms of building up the drama. Hawke and Pretzler are definitely destined for big things, but Wild and Dangerous came out and surprised a few people, including myself. Mad props.
Ace309 Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 Quick and filthy. Sly's match was interesting. I'm loving the roid rage, and I think Sly would do well to read some of Danny Williams' old stuff and implement some of his mannerisms. The match had a weird sort of detached feel that I really enjoyed... it was sort of like having an out-of-body experience, watching Sly's first big-time victory in this manner. Wild and Dangerous deserve mad props indeed... although I think it's unfair to describe it as "surprising people." They're obviously talented, or else they wouldn't be having this measure of success. And gooooooooooooooooo Toxxic!
King Cucaracha Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 Well, I might as well comment on it...I do believe my promo, coupled with the board promo and my upcoming Storm promo, are some of the better that I've done as Maddix. Which isn't saying a whole lot, granted. But still. Also, mad props to Cortez and Toxxic for their matches. And almost as mad props to W&D and Sly who aren't exactly 'mah boys', but still brought the content.
Secret Agent Posted March 9, 2005 Report Posted March 9, 2005 I just want to give a big congrats to Toxxic for being the first SWF World Champion to sucessfully defend the title at From the Fire. Toxxic making history again!
Toxxic Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Woo-hoo, go me. I should comment I know, but dammit, this Calvinball writing is hard (and I really mean that - I'm having fun, but it's like nothing I've written before)! And I'm busy sorting out to go away for the weekend (note to CC - I AM NOT BOOKABLE FOR THE NEXT SHOW) and organising my DJ night next Friday... I suck, I know. Congrats to everyone who wrote, big up to Maddix for a couple of bang-on promos, thankee to WC for resisiting the temptation to take Pretzler's CW title away from him.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 There was never any temptation on my part, Toxxic; I hate multi-man matches, and wasn't going to win my favorite title in one if I didn't have to. Besides, all things being equal, I actually want Pretzler to do well; simply from a kayfabe point of view, it's better for the fed if Pretzler has some run with the title, and gets himself established as a worthy champion. ... Before I bury him...
Secret Agent Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 That was me that was actually tempted to slap that belt on WC, but he refused to oblige.
chirs3 Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 I'm having a helluva time trying to pick between Toxxic/Maddix and W(&D) vs. Hawke/Pretzler as MotN. Both were just... epic. Epic is a good word. Another good word is totallyfuckingawesome. Props to you all.
