New "Realistic Legend of Zelda" Trailer Released

Recommended Posts

I hope this doesn't just end up being "Ocarina of Time Part 2" (as it seems that nearly every enemy or environment in this new trailer is from that game). Either way, it'll be great.

What was wrong with the last Zelda game?

Nothing.

But a lot of people hated the cel-shaded cartoony look. But Nintendo pulled it off almost perfectly.

Seems like some people were being rather childish.

A sequel to the greatest game of all time would be just fine with me.

As far as Zelda games disappointing... Well, I just gave my opinion of OoT, and I have to say that the follow-up, majora's Mask, was terribly disappointing. I played Ocarina for many hours daily for 4-5 days til I completed it 100%. Majora's Mask, well, I never even came close. It was a very subpar game.

I've actually played through and beaten all of the Legend of Zelda games(outside of those on CD-I) within the last month or so, and I realized how great Majora's Mask actually was. I've always liked it, but it has become my current favorite. The mood and the urgency just makes it for me.

The childish presentation aside (because it didn't detract from the game--on the contrary, the Wind Waker world was beautiful), I think WW's biggest problem was that sailing got a bit tedious, and the item collection towards the end is a bit out of hand. However, that sailing theme has become one of my favorite Zelda tracks, it's so epic!

After beating WW, I went back and played the OOT bonus disk. And I see why it was a superior game. You get more caught up in OOT's world. By the end, you think the entire universe rests on your shoulders. With WW, I was a bit more concerned with just finishing it.

That does look pretty good. And when does a true Zelda game ever disappoint, not counting the second one.

Zelda II is one my favourites.

My thoughts exactly. That trailer makes me want to go out and rebuy a Gamecube just so I can play this game.

A Link To The Past was the best Zelda game in my personal opinion. I love the looks of this game, and am seriously considering buying a Gamecube to play Wind Waker along with a few other games I've missed (like having played through almost all of Eternal Darkness on my friend's cube before leaving California and being left wondering what happens). I like the new Link look best out of all the ones I've seen.
