iggymcfly Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 What do you know, the Grizzlies have actually made a run to get it back into single digits. If they could actually win this game, that would be awesome. And Dama, the tourney only runs Thursday through Sunday for the first two weeks. Then the third week, they have the semifinals on Saturday and the championship on Monday.
SilverPhoenix Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I have everyone's that winning at this point. And Dama. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday are usually NIT Games (with Quarterfinal Games spread through Thursday - Monday). Thursday - Sunday = Regional Finals.
Damaramu Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 What do you know, the Grizzlies have actually made a run to get it back into single digits. If they could actually win this game, that would be awesome. And Dama, the tourney only runs Thursday through Sunday for the first two weeks. Then the third week, they have the semifinals on Saturday and the championship on Monday. God dammit. Work is always trying to screw me over.
mike546 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Iowa thankfully makes a run, and its down to six. edit: I can't wait until tomorrow. Beside my team being in it, the Syracuse bracket just looks more interesting.
iggymcfly Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 The game I'm looking forward to is Utah State/Arizona. That's the biggest upset I have picked for the first round, and I really want to see it hit. If I want to watch it though, I'm probably going to have to get out of the house, because I don't think they'll be showing it here.
CanadianChris Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 UTEP has come back from 13 down to tie Utah. Great game right now, best one on.
KingPK Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I have UTEP making the Cinderella run to the Elite Eight in my money pool, so GO GO GO!!
CanadianChris Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Does anyone else hatehateHATE that CBS feels the need to show everyone the finish of every game, regardless of how close it is? Do I really need to see BC close out a 17-point blowout?
iggymcfly Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Yeah, I was bitching about it earlier, but I really don't mind right now, since I bet Montana to cover the spread as a 20 1/2 point underdog.
SilverPhoenix Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Utah holds on to win to complete the perfect sesson I'm 4/4 in Session 2, and 7/8 for the day.
iggymcfly Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Ok, I'm up to 7/8 in the TSM pool after going 4 for 4 in the afternoon session. Cincy and BC are both great against bad teams, so those were easy picks. I waffled on the Utah/UTEP game a little bit, but I finally figured that Utah didn't have enough of a tournament history to overlook their first round game, and talent-wise were just a little bit better than UTEP.
mike546 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 7/8 to finish the day. I really thought Iowa could pull off the upset, guess not.
SilverPhoenix Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 7/8 to finish the day. I really thought Iowa could pull off the upset, guess not. Or at least this half. Sessions 3 and 4 are tonight. Session 5 is tomorrow at Noon Session 6 is tomorrow at 2:30 Session 7 and 8 are tomorrow night. Session 9 and beyond begin Saturday.
Der Kommissar Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 7 for 8 myself today, and my Elite 8 pick held on to win(now if only they can do the same against Oklahoma and Kentucky.)
Mole Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I'm 5 out of 8 because I made some stupid picks, IE Penn over BC. I also had Iowa over Cinn. because Iowa had been doing well while Cinn wasn't. Fuck.
Matt Young Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Luckily I picked Wisconsin-Milwaukee over Alabama.... Unfortunately, I picked UTEP over Utah and Iowa over Cincy. Everything else in my bracket is correct so far.
MARTYEWR Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 8 for 8 so far. I have Nevada, Wake Forest, Arizona, Gonzaga, Creighton, Illinois, LSU, and Texas Tech for the remainder of the day.
mike546 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Tonight, I've got Wake Forest, Nevada, Arizona, Gonzaga, WV (really hard pick), Illinois, and LSU.
teke184 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 6 of 8 right so far... missed UW Milwaukee and Pacific. I didn't have Alabama or Pitt moving to the Sweet 16, so it's only a 2 point loss so far. Remaining games tonight: I've got LSU (naturally), Wake, Waste Virginia, Gonzaga, Texas Tech, Arizona, Illinois, and Texas for my remaining games tonight.
Der Kommissar Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 I have Wake Forest, Texas, Arizona, Gonzaga, WV, Texas, Tech, Illinois, and LSU. I can see the Texas and WV picks coming back to bite me in the ass.
Matt Young Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Shit, I didn't see that Pacific beat Pitt. Another wrong choice. For the rest of the day, I have Wake, Gonzaga, Illinois, Texas, LSU, Arizona, Creighton, and UCLA.
Guest Shadow Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 sadly, I forgot to do the tsm pool but im in 4 other pools and im 7 for 8 with Pittsburgh being the ruiner of my perfection parade. I had Utah to the elite eight so i was sweating at the end of that one, I have UW-Mil all the way to the s16. tonight's games? Wake, Zaga, Illi, Tex,LSU,Zona, WVU, UCLA.
Guest Shadow Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 so i got Tex/Vada now. I missed the games eariler due to work and relied on radio, so want to say that Im a fan of this new scoreboard thing at the top. i like all scores currently playing bein displayed at the same time.
iggymcfly Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Yeah, I'm stuck with Gonzaga, likely the least interesting contest of the evening. I'll go somewhere to watch the second half of Utah St./Arizona though. And I agree completely about the CBS scoreboard. It's extremely convenient.
Guest Shadow Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 are you nuts? Winthrop is a top ten in scoring and 'Zaga is a high scoring team as well. The least interesting game is clearly Wake/Chatta.
Guest Shadow Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 it's early but already all four games are still close. however like i said, it's early. I expect wake to go on a run soon and same for Gonz. UT/Zona will be close for sometime and nev/tex likely is a nail biter.
iggymcfly Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Well, I like my gambling, and I've got Wake in a teaser, so that removes it from consideration. In Gonzaga/Winthrop, all I can do is root for a favorite to keep my Elite 8 intact. Plus I hate Gonzaga. Boring.
CanadianChris Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Illinois, Nevada, Creighton, Wake Forest, LSU, Arizona, Texas Tech and Gonzaga are my picks. I love that one of the Gonzaga players is named Batista. And one of the Winthrop players is named Bradshaw. It's the WM main event we never got!!
Guest Shadow Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I liked how for the color jersey identification, cbs went White=Gonzaga Garrett=Winthrop. Why so specific and not just red?
