Damaramu Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 My bracket is all torn to shit after tonight. Tomorrow and Friday should effectively murder it.
Guest Evolution Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 11/16, as Chicago turned out pretty good for me. Hoping Day 2 will top out at 13-14, though. I consider this a disappointment for me, as I'm trying to repeat as champion of a local non-TSM pool I'm in.
MARTYEWR Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 14/16, only losses for me were Creighton and LSU. I should've joined a Yahoo pool. Ah well, I should be near the top in the office money pool I'm in.
Vern Gagne Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Only 10 correct, and 2 Sweet Sixteen teams eliminated. Stupid, I picked Arizona to win the damn tournament in a tourney pool for money, and here I don't even have them beating LSU in the 2nd round.
mike546 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 For the day, I've got NC State, Florida, Minnesota, Oklahoma St, UConn, SI, Louville, Cuse, Wisconson, Duke, MS, GT, Kansas, Miss. St, UNC, and Nova. I don't see many upsets today, hopefully.
Damaramu Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Yesterday I went 12/16 Today I have: NC State, Florida, ISU, OSU, UConn, GT, Kansas, Standford, Louisville, Syracuse, Wisconsin Nova, St Mary's, UNC, Duke, MSU.
SilverPhoenix Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Seesion 5 is looking good early. Charlotte is winning Florida is winning Oklahoma State is winning And we have a thriller in Iowa State Vs. Minnesota.
MARTYEWR Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Today, I have S. Illinois, Oklahoma St., Geo. Washington, Louisville, UNC, Minnesota, New Mexico, Florida, Wisconsin, Kansas, Charlotte, UConn, Duke, Stanford, Old Dominion, and Syracuse.
mike546 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Ah fuck, NC State needs to win. So does Minnesota. Thinking back on it, yesterday was a ton easier to pick than today.
Guest Evolution Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Southern IL, OK St., GA Tech, Louisville, UNC, Minnesota, Villanova, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kansas, N.C. State, UConn, Duke, Stanford, Michigan St., Syracuse today. Ohio is a stretch, but I had to make one upset pick and that might as well have been it.
2GOLD Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Southern IL, OK St., GA Tech, Louisville, UNC, Minnesota, Villanova, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kansas, N.C. State, UConn, Duke, Stanford, Michigan St., Syracuse today. Ohio is a stretch, but I had to make one upset pick and that might as well have been it. Not really a huge one. If anyone knows how to get eliminated in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament, it's Billy Donovan.
MARTYEWR Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Iowa State is giving Minnesota all they can handle. So far, it's the only one I'm losing, but it's not the end of the world if I lose this one, because I have Minnesota getting knocked out in the second round anyway.
Damaramu Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Did anyone besides me pick ISU? I've seen that team all year. I know they're dangerous.
MARTYEWR Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 NC State's leading against Charlotte now. Much like Minnesota, it's not the end of the world if Charlotte loses, since I had them losing in the second round anyway, but the Syracuse Region is giving me a few headaches.
mike546 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Thank god for NC State. They NEED to hold this lead. The NC State game and the Minnesota game don't mean that much to me, I don't have them going past the 2nd round.
Der Kommissar Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Did anyone besides me pick ISU? I did. I figured that they were able to give a lot of the Big 12 fits, while Minnesota never really did anything to stand out. It looks like it is currently paying off.
MARTYEWR Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Damn, what an offensive performance in the second half by N.C. State. Too bad for Hodge that there's only 2 minutes to go. He's 3 rebounds and 2 assists away from a triple double.
MARTYEWR Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 N.C. State officially moves on, winning 75-63 over Charlotte. 0 for 1 so far today.
mike546 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 If everything plays out the way it looks, I'm 3/4 for session one.
Guest Evolution Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I didn't have faith in ISU, but if they should win, I have North Carolina beating the winner in the second round anyway, so I think I'll make it. Really happy about N.C. State, that game had me nervous since two of my picks (Minnesota and Ohio) are already in trouble in the Syracuse region. I wish my local CBS affiliate would go away from the ISU game, since I'm more interested in the fight that SE Louisiana is putting up against Oklahoma St.
Der Kommissar Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 If everything holds, I will be 4 for 4 for this session, and 17 of 20 overall. I am not looking forward to later though as I have two 12s going over 5's. If it works, then it will be nice foresight, if it fails, then I will fall a bit behind.
Damaramu Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 SE Louisiana isn't going to win. Man everyone is playing these tournament games close though. Well not everyone but a lot of people.
MARTYEWR Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Damn, it ain't over yet between Florida and Ohio. If Florida wins, and the other two hold up, I'll be 2/4 this session, 16/20 overall.
Der Kommissar Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Whoa! Florida apparently thinks it's last year and they're facing Manhattan, as they just choked up a big lead against Ohio!
mike546 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 What the fuck? FLORIDA, WHATS GOING ON?!???
iggymcfly Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 I did good with ISU and NC State, but I really need Florida to hold on here, because I can't afford to lose three Sweet 16 teams in the first round.
Der Kommissar Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 It looks like Florida will hold on now. Despite the fact that I have Florida going through to the Sweet 16, I was really hoping Ohio woild have pulled it off. Oh well.
2GOLD Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 As far as the NCAA tournament goes, Donovan is a miserable coach. Never seems to be able to convince his players to PLAY ENTIRE GAMES. They survive this time but don't be surprised if it's bye bye in round two.
smh810 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Nah Florida is still a Sweet 16 team minimum. Yes Coach D has trouble getting his players up for 1st round games but this group is simply too good. When theyre on they can not only beat anybody but destroy them. This is their wake-up call and I dont see Villanova or New Mexico beating them.
Mole Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 UConn is up next. Even though I have them losing in the Elite Eight, I still hope they re-peat. Even though it probably won't happen.
