Lyrics that came true

Recommended Posts

I was just listening to some music and I noticed in one particular song, "Get Down" by Nas, he describes a scene eerily similar to the whole Brian Nichols thing. Are they any song lyrics you know that foreshadow events that happened later? This song came out in 2002..

"The D.A. who tried him was lyin

A white dude, killed his mother durin the case

Hung jury, now the D.A. is bein replaced

Pre-trial hearin is over, it's real for the soldier

Walks in the courtroom, the look in his eyes is wild

Triple-homicide, I sit in the back aisle

I wanna crack a smile when I see him

Throw up a fist for black power, cause all we want is his freedom

He grabbed a court officer's gun and started squeezin

Then he grabbed the judge, screams out -- nobody's leavin everybody get down.. get down.. "

Well, the original lead singer of Drowning Pool saw something:

"One - Nothing wrong with me

Two - Nothing wrong with me

Three - Nothing wrong with me

Four - Nothing wrong with me

One - Something's got to give

Two - Something's got to give

Three - Something's got to give

Now

Let the bodies hit the floor"

Sublime... Pool Shark.

And, while not a lyric, the end (or beginning...can't remember which) of one Snot song had a "car crash" sound effect.

Doesn't Billy Joel's "You May Be Right" start with squeeling wheels and a crash?

Here is something in reverse, George Strait was given a song called "Love Without End, Amen" where the song writer mentions a year when the singer's son would be born, Strait had it changed to reflect the year his own son was born

Another Billy Joel one, "Famous Last Words" is the last song on the River Of Dreams album (may have been the last produced, I'm not sure) and sometime after the album came out he basically said he was done making pop-rock records and concentrating on other projects and such

John Denver sang "I'm Leaving On A Jet Plane

Rumors about duets between artists doing cheating songs for example Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood did "In Another's Eyes" and shortly thereafter both ended up getting divorced and have now been together for a few years now

I remember a long time ago I saw a website that said Morrisey prophecised Princess Diana's death in "The Queen is Dead". The whole theory was bullshit, especially since the webmaster totally missed the point of the song "Some Girls are Bigger"

That was intentional as he had already decided he was going to focus on classical music from then on

Not sure if the placement of the song was intentional. Yeah he had been leaning towards getting out while making the album and from what I've heard it was pure coincidence that "Famous Last Words" ended up being the last pop song he'd ever do.

I guess he was originally thinking about going in that direction as "a side project" or something and decided to go full throttle and "Famous Last Words" was his way of breaking Prospero's staff (from Shakespear's "The Tempest")

yeah, but all rappers have at least one or two songs where they talk about getting killed...hell Jay Z gets shot in a video...it's just coincidence with 2Pac and Biggie...

Okay, but in the same vein, what about about the "I Ain't Mad At Cha" video which came out, what, mere days before his murder?

I just think 2Pac always knew he'd probably go out that way...I know it's crazy, with the timing and all, but I still chalk that one up to pure coincidence...

Okay that was "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out." Some coincidences are notable ("in a darkened underpass" where the crash happened, "to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die" referring to Dodi, "it's not my home it's their home and I'm welcome no more" referring to the royal family) but it's no huge thing

Not to be a big "OMG conspiracy~!" theorist, but didn't 2Pac fake his death with that whole Makiavelli thing?

Ah yes, the "Diana-Morrissey Phenomenon~!" is here.

Some of it nearly makes sense, but frankly that guy has *far* too much time on his hands.

Thats what everyone thought because makaveli was some dude in egypt who faked his death.

2 Pac's "God Bless the Dead" - He says "rest in peace to biggie smalls" and 2 pac died before biggie.
