lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 O.J. Simpson says Johnnie Cochran was 'what's good about the law' I can assure you, speaking as someone who may potentially be licensed to practice law as early as this year, that THIS is the funniest line this thread will ever produce. If you have any goals towards being a defense attorney, then this is a very true statement. You know Johnnie was the fucking MAN. No doubt. He's the bad guy, but he's just too damn good at what he does to really hate him. Like a black Bar-admitted Robert E. Lee. how is he the bad guy...because he got off a famous rich, African-American ex-athlete who may....possibly....just might have....brutally murdered his attractive White wife and her waiter boyfriend. He did his damn job and was able to pretty much with the help of like 19 other really good lawyers, win a case that went from being pretty much a slam dunk looking at the "evidence" to casting a reasonable doubt in many people's minds that the LAPD might be just a tad corrupt. That is amazing work, my friends whether you think OJ was innocent or guilty
Special K 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 ^ I'm not going to go revelling in Cochran's death, but in the above post you seem to be confusing 'good & bad' with 'competent & incompetent.'
Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2005 If Johnnie is the bad guy then you are saying that about every defense attorny in the history of law. He was a damn good lawyer that did some great things.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2005 I'm saying "bad guy" from the perspective of someone who thought OJ killed his wife, not that he was a bad man.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2005 There is a line the Johnny Cochrane crossed. Its one thing to be a good lawyer who defends his clients and their rights. Its quite another to defend his client by putting on an elaborate show, and smear a lot of innocent people in process, just to get a guy off the hook who was probably guilty. He did what any good defense attorney would do. And what innocent people did he smear along the way? He didn't come close to crossing the line. Crossing the linewould have been accusing Nicoles Sister of doing it because she was always jealous of Nicole. Thats distasteful....although it would make a good movie...
