He was in the background during the scene at the bar. It was a very small, but cool bit; would have been more obvious had he been the one playing the piano.

Man, Helo, you really can't tell Boomer from Athena, can you? After all these years, he gets tricked exactly the same way. Did anyone else notice how much Mr. Thrace resembled Leoben at certain angles or was it just me?

I'm not sure where next week's episode is supposed to be going, because an argument over whether or not to keep the ship, even if it is falling apart, seems pointless. "Let's scuttle Galactica." Back when the main characters were dog-fighting. But I guess there's only so much of that you can do. Baltar is bad-ass, no matter if he's a human or an angel.

BSG is pretty much my favorite show ever but I feel like I can objectively say this was one of the best send offs I've seen for a show (at least since Six Feet Under). Satisfied. I'd imagine when it comes to some of the more mystical elements of the show some folks might be turned off by its ambiguity. I guess that is why they call it "mystical". Fill in the blanks for yourself.

Well, obviously, the colonials shared their gods and God with the different tribes of humans they encountered, as well as elements of language and mathematical concepts. Hell, one civilization was even named after one of our characters (Galen = Gaelic). I suspect Apollo eventually settled in the Greek islands with other colonial survivors, and his ideals of democracy were eventually passed down to them. The monotheists similarly inspired the Hebrew culture.

A lot of people (my dad included) seemed to have a real issue with the religious subtext, which throughout the series seemed like a plot device. It didn't bother me as much, but it did reinforce the notion that polytheism should be rejected and that there is one true God with angels and all that. Pretty preachy for a sci-fi show.

Guess what, the Greeks spent a long time not being democratic before that developed. So were Apollo and his douchebag descendants just keeping the secret of democracy to themselves before unleashing it in 148000 years later? Hell no. Don't even get me started on math concepts...math concepts!?!??! Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I think the part where anglel-Baltar said "He really doesn't like being called that" was just a poke at all the people who thought that they needed to lay out and explain the nature of God(s) on the show. Man was Kara's ending ballsy. The use of the Hendrix version of All Along the Watchtower at the end was my favorite part.

Face it, the writers just thought it would be good to end it all on 'our' Earth with Hera as Mitochondrial Eve, and the surviving characters having a relatively happy peaceful ending. Fine, do that, but don't say shit like "We'll teach them language" or "I'm going to make a farm" because that's crap.

I thought the first hour and a half were pretty good, and all in all, up to the point where they jump and find "earth" (#2). After that I wasn't so sure, particularly the non-explanation for Starbuck. The last scene brought it back home for me. that was pretty awesome, and very off the wall. Apparently they literally were angels from God. Which was cool, but I was kind of hoping, one of them was God and the other was the Devil, having some sort of observational wager on humanity.

The last thing I wanted was blasted, irradiated earth to be a fake-out. I was also wholly unimpressed with the Opera House nonsense and the "powers beyond our control did it!" explanation for everything, but I guess that's what you get when you make up goofy mysteries with no understanding of how you're going to solve them. Some good space porn in there, but I felt like this finale largely took the easy way out and tried to wrap things up in a neat bow, which has never been something this show did well. Kara just disappearing was brutally retarded, too.
