Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 From PWinsider.com According to TV ads the main event for Judgment Day is going to be an "I Quit" Match between John Cena and JBL.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 Hey J-Day is in Minneapolis. It would of been nice if they had it at the X. Better Arena, and much closer to home. Might have even gone if, it was there.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 They better have something good planned for the undercard, because I think by that point, the fans will be pretty damn sick of the JBL/Cena feud. I've got a feeling that Cena's first buyrate's as champ is going to come in pretty low.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 4, 2005 I'm hoping they do the draft on May 2nd(night after Backlash) and get some new people(HBK, Orton, Jericho, Hurricane) over to Smackdown. Because I'd personally would have HBK come back and go after Kurt one more time, and after that maybe do something with Undertaker for old time sakes then slowly build to Cena/Eddy(rudo) building with Cena dropping the title to Eddy around early summer and build Eddy/HBK @ SummerSlam in D.C. Bottom Line, Shawn needs to be on Smackdown now and so does Orton and Jericho. Shawn and Jericho have done everything on Raw now. Shawn/Eddy would be fantastic. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 If Shawn, Orton, and Jericho go to Smackdown... At least have Haas come to Raw to feud with Shelton for a bit. Give Shelton SOMEONE to chase after the IC title.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 4, 2005 I would do this To Smackdown Orton Shawn Jericho Venis Hurricane To Raw Undertaker(he's squashed everyone on SD) JBL Charlie Haas Hardcore Holly Heidenreich You'd trade Two former heavyweight champs to raw, and smackdown in return gets 3 former champs as well. Haas/Venis could be easily revitlized on new shows, Heidenreich would give kane someone new to play with. Holly is just a name i threw out and Hurricane belongs in the cw division. ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 I'll say the obvious here: this match will suck. Neither of these guys can build a convincing match with nearfalls. How in the world, with neither having established or credible submission moves, can they have a quality match with a stipulation like this? I would think a better stipulation that can play to these guys' strengths more (no disqualification, first blood, cage, anything involving brawling). I know that Rock v. Foley was pretty good in the "I quit" environment, and I hope JBL and Cena can produce, but this is seemingly a stipulation that is counterproductive to making a good match for these two. One problem with that list. Undertaker and HHH in the same lockerroom at the same time? There's too many problems with that scenario to list.

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 This match would have made so much more sense with JBL retaining at Mania in some really cheap victory that kept Cena strong. It just seems to me to be a better match when the babyface challenger has to make the hated heel champion say "I Quit" to WIN the title instead of to retain it. Naked Snake 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2005 I remember them co-existing in 2002. There was something fishy about the Triple H/Undertaker match from from an August Raw in 2002. I remember bringing this up to a friend a while ago. It seemed so political. Undertaker jumped to SmackDown! right after this match and he was kept away from Triple H. I'm only bringing this up in this thread because I want to know if there was something behind it, and the curious relationship between both wrestlers was hinted at in this thread. ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 I don't know if I like the fact that the image on that table has Cena wearing the title belt and he isn't wearing the belt in the main shot, or if I think it's tacky. Either way, better than the Undertaker on the poster again for Judgment Day. Jason

Not only would that add more intrigue to the match, but Cena's big title win wouldn't be overshadowed like it was last night.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 claydude- I marked out when I saw Cena win the belt at Staples last night, but your post just now reminded me that Cena promised to make changes to the belt if he won it. Ugh... I liked the spinner belt in a way since it fit his character and was cool as a novelty, but at the same time, I thought it somewhat made a mockery of the championship. Now he's going to be fucking with the WWE Heavyweight Championship. I know that the belt itself doesn't look too great and only has been around for 3 years, but I fear what WWE may do for a special Cena belt.

I know that the belt itself doesn't look too great and only has been around for 3 years, but I fear what WWE may do for a special Cena belt. It didn't bug anyone when Austin made a "mockery" of the WWE title when he transformed it into his Smoking Skull belt. The Spinner US title actually made the US title more recognizable, never in my life have I seen crowds with so many Signs for a Title belt. Spinner US title signs, mercindises and rep belts were everywhere. it seemed to be the most popular belt in the WWE. all this..for a Championship belt. when was the last time a belt was this popular. I'am sure the fans will catch on immediately with the WWE title. If Cena does customize it
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 For those wondering about Cena customizing the belt--he actually brought out the new faceplate when he made his entrance at WM. He wore it around his neck on a chain. Yes, it's a spinner. T666: When Austin did it, the belt looked cool regardless. But the US spinner belt looked really stupid and tacky. At least IMO. I thought it looked catchy, something completly original for a title belt and obeisly it worked.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Damn, and I was going to probably go to this show since I live in MN. Maybe not now unless they do some serious overhaul to the undercard. Their Mania match bored me so much. Cena-JBL would be much better as a street fight or with some sort of gimmick match along those lines. Unless they pull out alot of hardcore stuff like Rock/Foley did at RR 99, I cant see this match being anything but a bore. I cant imagine a month and a half buildup being much of a help either. WWE should move on to bigger and better feuds with the two main titles other than having the heels who lost them at Mania challenging them again in the next two ppvs. Its a no win situation - the face wins again which proves nothing and will somewhat bury the old champion, or else the heels win which serves no point to giving the title to Cena and Batista in the first place. Carnival 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 He should do a "throwback" to the Attiutde era belt. And then they just keep it that way. The belt now looks like a glorified tag team championship, any changes to it are welcome in my eyes.

reign 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2005 It sounds like this is going to be an "I Quit" Match for the WWE Championship which I think is very smart booking as both guys are good on the mike and during an I quit match they can throw out some stuff to make it entertaining. Cena looks like he could be a good brawler and we know that one of JBL's strengths is this type of gimmick match. On a side not how many damn gimmick matches has Bradshaw been in since he started his push anyways? He won a tournament to get his title shot He beat Eddy in a gusher..not a gimmick but a lot of blood Bullrope match vs Eddy Stretcher Match vs UT Triple Threat vs. Angle and Big Show Barbedwire Cage match vs TBS Champions Challenge vs Booker and I don't know who else This guy's the gimmick champion!!
