The Czech Republic Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 It's pretty much a two-horse race, but I stuck some other choices on there in the interest of fairness. To me, it's clearly Ben Gordon, and I'm not just saying it as a Bulls fan. The guy wins games. Okafor puts up better stats all around, but the Bobcats have the 14th best record in the East. The Bulls have the 3rd. Jason Kidd seems to favor Okafor, another reason why I think Jason Kidd is an ass. Apparently padding your stats on a crappy team without contributing to a big upset is appealing to him. It's not as if Ben Gordon is on a much better team and piggybacking to a 41-32 record. He's one of the biggest parts of the team's success, along with Deng, Curry, and Skiles. He's 6th man of the year, no question, and should pick up ROTY as well. It's no question.
Ripper Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Geez, calling Kidd and ass for picking Okafor is a stretch. I mean the guy is having a damn good year, but I think you have to go with Gordon. For ROY and for Sixth man of the year. ALTHOUGH. Being on Charlotte, Okafor is what other teams prepare to guard against. He sees the doubles, he is the one scouted. Gordon...after watching bulls games, I can tell ya, the other team barely pays him any attention, and he burns the for it. But what Okafor is doing is a lil more impressive in my eyes. And seriously...Chanlder, Curt Hinrich, Duhon, Curry, Harrington, all are better than the Wallace, Breznec(or whatever his name is), Hart, Kapono, Bogans lineup that Charlotte can put togethe. (I didn't add brevin Knight because he is the muthafuckin man)
The Czech Republic Posted April 6, 2005 Author Report Posted April 6, 2005 I'm sorry. I just take any chance I get to rip on Kidd. I really don't like the dude.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I'll go with Okafor, mainly because he's the only thing on Charlotte that has talent to be called an "All-Star" (or even B-All-Star) and has been carrying the team on his back (the team still sucks though). Gordon is definitely a great choice for 6th man, but I wouldn't go with ROY.
Ripper Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I wouldn't say that bout Charlotte. They just have a bunch of guys that have problems with consistancy. I think it is fairly obvious that Wallace and Brezec(however you say that fuckers name) will be contributors, and I will say that Brevin Knight is having a allstar caliber year at the point. Its just that outside of Brevin, Okafor has been incredibly consistant. Even Gordon has shown quite a few consistantcy problems.
Spaceman Spiff Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Might as well toss a vote Iguodola's way, even though I think Gordon should get it.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I'll go with Okafor. Just because one player has been having a fantastic year obviously doesn't translate into wins for the team. Okafor is legit, while the Bulls have a decent team and good coaching. This year's rookie class has been nothing compared to last season's, though.
Ripper Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 This year's rookie class has been nothing compared to last season's, though. *disagrees*
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Ripper always has to disagree with me in any sports-related thread.
