RYAN BOZ vs. TANK Plus, in action (either as part of the IWA World Heavyweight Title match, or in other bouts to be determined after Friday's show concludes): JIMMY JACOBS, CM PUNK, "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON, CHRIS CANDIDO, DELIRIOUS, CHRIS HERO, DANNY DANIELS, "Double C" CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI, "King of Diamonds" EDDIE KINGSTON, "Underwear Model" ERIC PRIEST, SILAS YOUNG, and "The Tremendous" EMIL SITOCI. Additionally, as part of the "Simply The Best 6" festivities, IWA Mid-South will be honoring a Chicago area legend with a special ceremony in Highland! Several last minute changes to the lineups had to be made as a result of a few developments. With Jimmy Jacobs winning the IWA World Heavyweight Title this past Friday in Herrin, IL, he will now be defending the title against Danny Daniels' original opponent for Midlothian, CM Punk. Unfortunately due to travel issues, B-Boy, Jack Evans, and Super Dragon will be unable to appear on this weekend's events. Dragon was only set to appear on Friday's card, and had to be back to California for an afternoon show on Saturday, which we were unable to make proper arrangements for. In the case of both B-Boy and Evans, we were under the impression initially that both wrestlers would be flying in from cities on the east coast for the weekend's events. Once their new travel information was brought to our attention, airfare prices out of Seattle (Evans) and San Diego (B-Boy) had skyrocketed to amounts which are out of our budget range. Trik Davis has agreed to team with Brandon Thomaselli against The Iron Saints in the TLC match on Saturday night to take B-Boy's spot, while Josh Abercrombie will now get the opportunity to participate in the Junior Tournament in the place of Evans. We will do our best to present two top quality events this weekend despite the changes. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2005 Ouch at Jack Evans being pulled. Double ouch considering Josh Abercrombie is the replacement. It's surprising how much one dropout affects the tournament so much. Aside from that, two very nice cards. They'll be worth £20 of my money. Hell, Cabana/Sweeney is worth half that alone. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2005 Despite Evans, Super Dragon and B-Boy having to pull out those are still both very loaded shows, numerous great-looking matches, Colt Cabana back in IWA, i can't see either show disappointing.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2005 Taken from the IWA boards: "I didn't like the finish either (of Joe vs. Ian) but it was done to build towards a rematch where Ian will lose. Ian does not have a problem putting people over, he does it all the time to the point where it doesn't even mean anything anymore. All of that being said, Ian does seem to have some sort of chip on his shoulder when it comes to ROH. He always says stuff about ow they only come to town every three months & IWA is here all of the time. Tonight he told Joe to go back & tell his buddies in ROH that he's more than just a guy with a bunch of scars & that he can go hold for hold. I don't even know why he mentions them at all, it's not like there rivals or something. The show overall was decent, nothing great. I'd guess the crowd was around 175. The crowd was kinda dead though, except for the two drunk guys that are at every show being idiots. It's great to be into it but these guys are just being obnoxious. Quick results Storm d. Davis McClure d. Sitoci Sweeney d. Cabana Generico d. Jigsaw Good stuff Haze d. Mickie Joe & Ian DCOR Bradley & Boz retained Delirious retained pretty good Hero pinned Kingston to whin the six way. These was alright but it could've been so much better. Jacobs d. Punk when Jacobs gave Punk a senton off the top with the belt strapped on him while the ref was out. Hero came don after the match, Jacobs slapped him & ran away. Back in Midlo on May 6 with everyones favorite wrestler Billy Gunn."

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 From the IWA boards: Matt Sydal wasn't allowed to wrestle by Ian due to a partial MCL tear. Emil Sitoci took his place. M-Dogg d. Jigsaw El Generico d. Sitoci Abercrombie d. Storm Dutt d. Fury Sweeney d. "Chicago area legend" Sonny Rogers. This was awful due to Rogers horrible mic & ringwork. Jade was hot though. Eddie Venom is a lucky man. Mickie d. McClure; McClure had her beat but was tired of Fannin's shit so he let Mickie pin him. Hats off to Mickie for working with the injured arm. Fannin didn't want to wrestle Mickie in her injured condition so he ended having to wear a dress for the rest of the night. Silas & Priest won a fourway tag over Whitmer & Kingston, Tyler Black & Joey Envy & Shane Tempers & Adam Jacobs (?). Cannon won a #1 contenders match over Daniels & Double C. This was good, especially when it was Cannon & Double C. Candido d. Ian Tank d. Boz Punk d. Delirious; good stuff in this one, lots of fun with the crowd. Punk put Delirious overon he mic afterward. Joe d. Bradley; another good match but this will be remembered for Joe's FUCKING AWESOME promo after the match. After Joe put Bradley over on the mic he talked about how some guys were fighters & some were bullies. He said on said he wanted to thank Ian for booking the match on June 11 against Necro Butcher because he was going to fight a bully. He went off on how Necro is an "untrained, pill popping, drunk piece of shit". He was REALLY pissed off becuse Necro took advantage of the ROH students at the CHIKARA tag tourney & said on Jne 11 he was going to beat the fuck out of him. Great promo filled with anger & hate. I wouldn't want to be Necro on any day but especially not on June 11. Aberrombie won the flippy tournament. All kinds of crazy stuff in this match. Abercrombie is by far the least talented of these four but they wanted one of there own to win I guess. Iron Saints d. Brandon & Trik; crazy bumps galore in this one including a crub stomp off the top of the ladder through a table on Brandon, unfortunately the table didn't break, it was sick. Jacobs d Hero; great match. Cannon came down afterward ended up getting into a pull apart with Hero, they'll wrestle on 6-18 in Highand. Very good show that really picked up in the second half as things weren't looking too good before the first intermission.
