Hey, I recently got another N64 and No Mercy (playing through Ocarina of Time, too), so I understand.

Carlito's used multiple finishers prior to his debut--usually I've seen it listed as a "modified neckbreaker" in house show reports. I think he won the US title with a standing clothesline, though.

However, I don't think CCC has an official WWE finisher yet. Hell, I don't even know what you'd put in most of his move list.

I think Heidenreich's finisher is that chokeslam variation he injured Richards with, but it isn't in the game (think he slammed Richards onto his knee with it).

Heh, I couldn't resist..I got No Mercy, GoldenEye, Star Fox, Mario64 and Zelda along with the system for 30 bucks...

anyway, can you describe the neckbreaker at all? i guess I can just use whatever is closest...same with Heidenreich, I'll just find a chokeslam that looks somewhat different than the other chokeslams in the game...

So far my CAWs are looking good, the only one that reall sucks is Rey, I had to make the maskless (egads!) Rey...

"Heh, I couldn't resist..I got No Mercy, GoldenEye, Star Fox, Mario64 and Zelda along with the system for 30 bucks..."

Still need Starfox and Mario--but got F-Zero X, Wave Race, and Mario Kart 64. The only newer guys I made are Orton, Shelton and Brock. I made Trish into an actual wrestler, too. There's not too many newer WWE guys that I feel are screaming to be made.

However, I rearranged the roster, dividing up by Raw and Smackdown, TNA guys, and free agents (several of which are dead, but still...it feels messed up creating a "Dead Guys" division).

"anyway, can you describe the neckbreaker at all? i guess I can just use whatever is closest"

One message board described it as being close to the Test Drive, but like I said, house show reports are where I'd usually see it, so I can't 100% verify it.

"...same with Heidenreich, I'll just find a chokeslam that looks somewhat different than the other chokeslams in the game..."

*nod* When H-Reich starts regularly using stuff other than punches and kicks and begins winning matches with a move, then we'll know. :P I think there was a one-handed chokebomb in, though. That might be best.

"So far my CAWs are looking good, the only one that reall sucks is Rey, I had to make the maskless (egads!) Rey..."

Yeah--the lack of masks is one of the biggest beefs with the game. Either maskless, Aki-Man, or Kane are your choices for Rey, basically.

I did the exact same things, put TNA guys in their own group, I lumped dead guys with "no longer in the WWE" guys...here are the CAWs I made, mostly just main eventer/upper mid-card guys:

Booker T

Shelton Benjamin

RVD

Rey Mysterio

Snitsky

Heidenreich

William Regal

Tajiri

John Cena

Carlito Cool

Big Show (why wasn't he in here already? Was he in OVW at the time?)

Randy Orton

Batista

Thankfully, a good chunk of the real world roster is in this game...just have to do some tweaking here and there...

Is it just me or is it more fun making guys than it is actually playing the game?

Oh, I agree. I loved creating characters in No Mercy. My favorite was to take a character like the Undertaker and use some of his alternate outfits to make a decent looking Kevin Nash or Diesel. My friends and I would play Royal Rumble mode and someone would be like "I didn't know Diesel was in this game!" I did that for almost every character in the game.

You got formulas and top-notch (accurate/works well in the context of the game) formulas for some of those? I'd like a good RVD and Regal. Tajiri I would like to use, but without some of his key moves I wouldn't bother.

Orton's pretty easy, especially with all the Diamond Cutters and his abandonment of the Overdrive. In fact, I made him primarily to give him all the DCers.

Big Show was sent down to OVW to lose some weight at the time. You may have noticed the Big Nasty Bastard shirt, for instance. It was another case where they intended to put him in but didn't because I suppose WWE told them not to. They'd planned to put him in from the start, though, but the decision caused them to arbitrarily put Richards in Big Show's place in all storylines.

I'm somewhat puzzled that they included all of the equipment and moves to make perfect No Mercy representations of guys like Gangrel (even included his profile picture), but not for Big Show.

Forgot to mention that I made my own Big Show, too. Also, yeah, it's nice to be able to update the looks. BG James and The Outlaw for the NAO, a few color swaps for Waltman--but JBL looks awful with his Acolyte face texture. I gave him Gunn's (the shit-eating grin works, and many of the features are surprisingly similar). However, the body type looks off no matter what I set it to. Did he lose a lot of weight since then?

Cena's a guy I plan on making, but it would be hard filling in his moveset.

While the CAW mode it a bit too simple, I agree that it's fun making them. Plus, they *actually look like the wrestlers in the game*. It's annoying spending 10 minutes just making a guy's face in the SD games, and when you're all finished with the guy, because it's a CAW it still sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the other wrestlers. While in No Mercy you can make a perfect Bret Hart that looks like he was already in the game.

hard filling Cena's moveset? Are you nuts? I just gave him the most generic wrestling moves I could find since he sucks...the only thing I couldn't add was the 5 Knuckle Shuffle, I just put ina jumping punch...obviously the DVD would be his finisher, though he doesn't do it right anymore...

Give me some time and I will get back to you with those Regal and RVD formulas...it was kinda hard to do RVD's outfit, but I did my best...

Heh--well, that's what I mean. Most of his stuff is generic, except for some of TMs, which aren't in. Not much special there.

Often I'll base a moveset off another game, though. I.E. SvR move sets.

Okay. PM with it if you can.

Meatwad: Don't have an N64 Gameshark. Is there a Dexdrive save for that Batista?

Things that are hacked like new tattoos(I've also seen Orton's somewhere), pants, etc. all have to replace something pre-existing in the game. The same goes for move hacks as well. Want the F-U? No more DVD. If you used a DexDrive, any character in your game with the DVD would use the F-U instead. You know that right? ;)

But to answer your question, there are saves over at Gamefaqs. I don't know if any contain the Batista since the descriptions are minimal. Though the one called "No Mercy Update V.2" could, since it's the most detailed hack ever done of the game. Updated rosters, new attire for everyone, etc(though it's Beta so it only updates the Raw roster). Don't know if has any hacked moves, though I would suspect so. I would know except my N64 has been dead for about a year, so I use the NM rom since I have the game, thus negating the ability to try the save. Most gamesark move hacks don't work with the emulator either. :(

Ah. Then in that case, n/m. I'd be satisfied with what's in the game, even if it's a little off.

For anyone who actually paid attention to the H-Reich match on Raw--he use a finisher in it?

Heidenreich's finisher is something similar to the Bossman Slam.

The only finishers Heidenreich have ever really used are, as mentioned above, a Bossman Slam type manuever. (although I think he's only done it a few times) and a shoulder breaker. The Godfather type shoulder breaker, which is the one he uses most.

Heidenreiech has been using the Bossman Slam as a finisher for quite a while now. Carlito uses the Play of the Day (POD)/Overdrive, which Elix Skipper uses/used and Randy Orton injured himself attempting on that Raw where he faced Lance Storm and Christian back to back.

I wish my sister hadn't stolen and sold my games. I really want to play the AKI wrestling games.

Without a GS, I decided to try my own Batista. Other than the tattoos (my version has the tattoo wrapping around his front a bit), and the short tights (they used the GS to mirror them so that the little white mark on the front is flipped on the other side), he looks just like that pic.

I want to point out that there is an almost PERFECT entrance taunt for your Batista CAW that is almost exactly like the shooting guns dance he does...and I think by now we've all decided how awesome that is...

Which one? I don't feel like scrolling through a couple hundred poses for it, and I assume you already have it set, so you just could look it up.

My N64 library is pretty kick ass now, BTW. I got Mario 64 at last, DK Racing, and Majora's Mask :).

Alright, I'll get back to you on that one...

As I said before, N64 was a truely underrated system that came out a little too late to make an impact...

Well, Nintendo had tons of first-rate first-party stuff. However, third party support was incredibly poor--even counterproductive in some cases. When a system gets a stripped-down ports of Resident Evil 2 and Mega Man Legends long after it came out on another system, it makes that system seem more second rate than if they'd never come out at all.

Out of the 15 N64 games I got, 9 are first-party (Nintendo themselves), 3 are second-party (Rare), and only 3 are third-party (No Mercy, Revenge, and Harvest Moon).

Cartridges are probably the main issue. The N64 did very well, but it would have made a bigger splash with more quality 3rd party support.

Nintendo knew they had a good system though, but other companies didn't think so. I'm still very impressed at how good F-Zero X looks and feels.

anybody besides me still play Virtual Pro Wrestling 2?

I would if I still had it. I sold it the last time I got rid of my N64 and games.

This is my 3rd time starting my N64 collection. I think I'll be keeping it.

I'd get VPW2 again if I saw it cheap, but that's rarely the case. So I personally don't think it's worth the additional cost I've seen it on Ebay for.

If you for some reason make a Randy Orton CAW, there is taunt that is very close to his:

Entrance: Taunt 17

In-Ring/Celebration: Taunt 29

I used Guerrero's for entrance, but probably will replace it. Thanks.

Andrew...it's Scotty 2 Hotty's entrance...it's not quite "The Guns", but it's as close as you'll get!

Looks good. Thanks.

I also made an up to date Kurt Angle, since 2K1 Angle is soooo out of date.

Biggest changes are the appearance, adding the anklelock, giving him the rolling germans for a back special, but there are also a handful of smaller move changes (like--when's the last time you saw Kurt dropkick?).

You have to clone the guy or use a Gameshark.

Yeah. I used a CAW slot to make a 2005 Kurt Angle. I don't think any games are going to let you alter both appearance and moves/settings.
