tominator89 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2005 How about this for Devil's Advocate: NFL owners don't fulfill their end of a contract. I'm sure it's somewhere in the agreement, but they sign a guy to a deal and then release him whenever they like. If Ricky Williams breached his contract by retiring, then how is a player being asked to restructure his deal, then fired, not a breach as well? I'm not as familiar with collective bargaining and all that stuff, but I'm willing to play along with Devil's Advocate here. A player like TO is bad because he wants a deal that guarantees him a salary and yet a team can simply cut someone for seemingly any reason. What about Quincy Carter? He was fired for failing a drug test, but I've read somewhere that you can't be let go for that reason. So, they said it was due to lack of production or something along those lines.
