Enigma Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Raw last night did a 3.9 rating. Given the main event, and the appearance of Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan, they have to be disappointed with the number. They only have themselves to blame if Hogan didn't draw a number. -- Dave Meltzer/WrestlingObserver.com
Guest Hass of Pain Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Wow, I am really suprised that the rating for Raw was so low last night. Was there a number on what the overrun did?
Guest Shadow Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 The main event was supposed to draw? No was gonna bother knowing well enough HHH would kill JR and Batista would come out with a minute before the show ended and clear the ring. They've only done that "main event" 25 times in the last 25 months.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 If it weren't for Hogan being on, I would've turned RAW off after 20 minutes when it started to go to shit.
Vyce Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 You know what this means. Batista's reign is a failure. Time to put the belt back on HHH, Vince!
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Of course this show did shit for ratings. Everyone knew exactly how the main event was going to go and know Batista doesn't show up till 11 most weeks so they tune out.
Guest MikeSC Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 The problem, clearly, was that Vince didn't talk enough. -=Mike
Guest Coffey Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 The problem was the show was terrible.
Guest MikeSC Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 The problem was the show was terrible. That's not what Hunter told me. He told me his match with JR was one of the greatest matches in recent history and that Ross has a great future as a possible IC Champ. -=Mike

He did sound funny. And he did seem to like the idea of a cage INSIDE of another cage WITH a ladder AND scaffold involved... -=Mike
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 The problem was the show was terrible. The problem was HHH vs. JR should've been an ironman match.
Guest MikeSC Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 The problem was the show was terrible. The problem was HHH vs. JR should've been an ironman match. No --- a PRINCE OF DARKNESS Ironman match. -=Mike
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 How about a Buried Alive, Prince of Darkness, Hell In A Cell, Iron Man Match?
Guest MikeSC Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 How about a Buried Alive, Prince of Darkness, Hell In A Cell, Iron Man Match? Are you Dusty Rhodes? -=Mike
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 No, Dusty would've thrown blindfolds and an inferno match in there.
Youth N Asia Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I know they love the idea of beating up Jim Ross a few times a year and putting it in a main event slot no less, but I don't think that was a good selling point for an MSG show. Raw was decient otherwise.

Raw was decient otherwise. If Hunter took JR's patented corkscrew screwdriver, it would've been nifty. -=Mike ...Nova stole JR's spots...
Youth N Asia Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Was I the only one annoyed with Lawler switching to uberface just cause he called with Coach (who keeps getting better).
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 That was the first thing I noticed. I was also annoyed that every other heel on the roster has to sell for Lawler like he's Superman but HHH can take him out with one punch.
Guest Coffey Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I think you're the only one that thought Raw was even good enough to be decent, even excluding the main event.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 The Coach I would hardly call good... on Heat he stills ignores every match to get heat on himself, and Grisham sucks even more.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I think it's a good statement to how bad Lawler is when it makes you wish for a tool like Coach to take over for him.
Youth N Asia Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Heat's a throwaway show to begin with, I put Coach over Cole, Tazz, and often King and JR. They had a good show when they put all three on Raw last year
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Velocity is a throw-away show as well, but Mathews and that other guy at least try and put everyone over like the matches matter.
razazteca Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 3.9 is too high for a show like that....I predict that the show will go back to the norm of 3.5 next week.
Jericholic82 Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Heel coach rules on commentary. You should watch Heat. However what rating did you expect with that main event? and even if people knew hogan was coming why would they watch? he essentially did the same thing as wrestlemania. and to me on tv his pop didnt sound that loud (anyone who was there can u tell me whta it sounded like live?)
Guest Fook_Theta Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Correct me if I'm wrong, but velocity and heat both get higher ratings than Impact! Atleast till they started showing the midnight/extra replays. This was classic anti-bischoff WCW booking. The main event was a no-brainer and the audience has repeatedly tuned out for such weak main events for years now. HHH/somebody made a bad call, and I have a feeling creative is part of the reason. You've got the first legit contender to completely dethrone HHH and they still couldn't come up with anything compelling this week. I'm going out on a limb and saying this was a "filler" week. We'll all forget about this if the HHH vs Batista saga heats up in a matter of months.
chaosrage Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Didn't they learn in 2002 that Hogan doesn't do anything for ratings? This was the first week I didn't watch in a long time BECAUSE I knew hogan was going to be on it. (oh and also because the main event was just HHH vs JR)
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 I thought Hogan's pop at Wrestlemania was loud. He had to have been one of the most over people at Wrestlemania other than Austin. I know my voice went out after he came out.
