WWE Uncomfortable with Batista as Champion

Recommended Posts

This is the easiest way to get new matches though.

Cena has already worked with JBL, Angle and Eddie, which are the main guys on SD, yes they could make some of those programs fresh again (especially Cena-Eddie), but they have been done.

At leats if they were to trade the champs, you'd have pretty much all new matches on both shows.

As far as the timing goes, I think the draft will happen right after Judgment Day.  Vince made mention that it would happen "in about a month", I believe JD is on May 22, so that fits the time frame.   By doing that, they can build up programs on SD for JD, and then start fresh the next night.

This is probably good and bad news for Cena.  Cena is the guy they want to push, and by being on RAW he gets to be on what the company sees as the top show, and he also gets on NBC, which is a fairly big deal.  The downside is that now he'll have to deal with HHH.  I'm sure he'll be losing the title to HHH at least once, and we all know HHH doesn't have a great track record when it comes to protecting rising stars.  The other positive for Cena is that he can have a little more freedom with his promos, which will help.

For Batista I think the move will be great.  He gets away from HHH, he gets a whole bunch of new guys he can kill, and then he's even got Angle over there who can carry him to a great match or two on PPV.

How about switching CONTENDERS around, to build the shows around the Champions instead of the other way around?

well, you could still build the shows around the champions, its just that they would switch shows.

As I said, I think Cena is better suited, character wise, for RAW.

Its just the best way to create the largest number of fresh matches at the top of the card.

Cena is more suited for SmackDown

SmackDown is broadcast on UPN

UPN tries to appeal to the hip-hop community.

John Cena's gimmick appeals to UPN's target audience.

How come everytime a wrestler becomes popular and hot on SmackDown, everyone suggest they move to Raw because its the so called "A" Show? thats just completly foolish.

Cena is one of the most over superstars on SmackDown, hes been on SD! sence the begining and is carrying that show as one of their top Draw. hes FINE where he is. it'd be utterly retarded to move Cena to Raw with the likes of Triple and Shawn Micheals there and other Main-Eventer groomers like Orton and Batista.

and just because Cena's gimick is more suitable for Raw doesn't mean he should be moved there. why not just let Cena's gimick get over on Smackdown instead. its been a success thus far so why fix something that isn't broken.

I have been wanting them to put the WWE championship as their main focus for a long time as it should be since it is the W W E title and this is the wwe.

Word.

I don't know if this rumour has any merit, but Batista still gets high ratings for his segments. HHH/J.R is what they should be uncomortable with. Batista is outdrawing HHH imo in the last few weeks. The switch of champions is a good idea ONLY if HHH doesn't bury Cena. They need to do something with HHH. Repackage him somehow. Vince really should listen to Patterson about HHH being too dominant. He's in 1990-91 Hulkamania mode now where fans are tiring of him, but he still is a top guy. They just have to do something different with the guy.

HHH should become a bad ass again, like with his D-X days. Cena could go to RAW but then we have Triple H taking the belt from him, don't like that. But when RAW goes to USA Network again Cena would be nice on RAW, he could swear and do riskier things.

HHH should stay far away from the World title picture for no less than 2 years, in the meanwhile he should just turn into a tag team with his idol Ric Flair or just go on a long vacation .

WWE] Not Much Is Expected Out Of Cena & Batista

Posted By PK on 04.22.2005

What does Vince really think of the 2 young Champs?

Vince McMahon realizes that Dave Batista and John Cena are not the next Stone Cold or The Rock, and understands that they will make mistakes. Vince considers the two of them projects, and expects other workers to help hide and eliminate their flaws.

Some WWE workers are upset, feeling that they were pushed prematurely (Batista more so then Cena), and not ready for top spot as are other wrestlers who are stuck in the mid-card with more comedic characters.

One WWE worker said that neither would make it past mid-card level 10-15 years ago, but they both have some very marketable aspects, and that Cena is considered much better on the mic, whereas Batista is over mainly because of his face work over a much hated HHH.

Vince doesn't expect that much from them but he still feels that they make better champions than a Benoit or a Jericho? WWE is turning so much into WCW that it's not even funny anymore.

No, because WCW never pushed new talent to the Main-Event spot. Eddie and Benoit had their shot as Champions (something WCW would never do), now its other superstar's time to shine. Cena is doing fine as Champion and Batista would be doing fine if it wasn't for Triple H.
