Rabbi, Man Wearing Swastika Trade Blows At Airport

Men Charged With Disorderly Conduct

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A rabbi wearing a yarmulke and a man wearing swastikas got into a fight at Kansas City International Airport Sunday evening.

 

According to a police report, Rabbi David Fine, 36, of Overland Park, was in the KCI terminal when he commented to Steven T. Boswell, 30, of Olathe, about a large swastika logo on his shirt and his swastika necklace.

 

Fine told Boswell that he should be ashamed of himself, and Boswell responded by calling the rabbi inhuman, the police report stated.

 

The rabbi allegedly threw a cup of coffee in Boswell's face and punched him. Boswell told police he then repeatedly punched Fine in the head.

 

Both men were handcuffed and charged with disorderly conduct. They refused medical attention.

 

The responding officer said Fine had some small bumps on his head and Boswell had coffee stains on his clothing.

 

Both men are scheduled to appear in court on June 22.

Fonda Declines To Press Charges

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police said they arrested a man for spitting on two-time Academy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda (pictured, right) during a book-signing stop in Kansas City Tuesday night.

 

Fonda, 67, spoke at Unity Temple, in The Plaza shopping district, about her new best-selling book, "My Life So Far," and her new movie with Jennifer Lopez called "Monster-In-Law."

 

At about 9 p.m., police said 54-year-old Michael A. Smith, who had been waiting in line for about 90 minutes, passed a book to Fonda and then spit a large amount of tobacco juice into her face.

 

They said Smith then ran away and was taken into custody by off-duty officers, who were providing security for the event.

 

Fonda declined to prosecute Smith.

 

A Vietnam veteran, Smith was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, which is a city charge.

 

In 1972, Fonda was photographed sitting in a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft tank.

 

About her protest involvement in the Vietnam War, Fonda has apologized for her anti-aircraft tank photo, calling it an incredible lapse in judgment. She has not apologized for opposing the war.

Man Shot In Leg After Sarcastic 'You're Welcome'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are looking for a gunman who didn't appreciate a sarcastic customer at a Westport liquor store last week.

 

Surveillance video showed a confrontation that took place Thursday. A man in a striped shirt was leaving the store when another man held the door open for him.

 

When the man in the striped shirt neglected to say "thank you," the other man sarcastically said, "You're welcome."

 

The man in the striped shirt left the store, waited for the other man to exit, then shot him in the leg in the parking lot.

 

The shooter fled the scene and is still on the loose.

uhhhh of course you can...my wife is a nurse and she just recently told me about a 12 year coming in with burns because his mom accidentally spilled coffee on him...now maybe adults are thicker skinned, but in some caes, sure it can burn bad enough...especially if it's in your face...
