sfaJack Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 The Packers must be taking draft advice from Matt Millen.
iggymcfly Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 I haven't been following the draft that close, and I just read the last page of the thread, so forgive me if this has been covered, but how the hell did JJ Arrington slip down to the second round? I really think he was the best player in college football last year, and he was only a junior. His ypc average was better than anyone else from a major school by a decent margin, and he still had plenty of carries. I think there's every reason to think that he'll be a better NFL RB than Cedric Benson (who went Top 5?!). Benson had one of the best O-lines in college football last year, and basically just hit open holes for five yards at a time all day. Vince Young, as a QB, often ran for as many yards as he did. I really think that you could have plugged about 50 or 100 different backs into that Texas offense last year and got 1500 yards. I really don't see why someone like JJ Arrington who could be really special ends up that far behind Benson.
Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Yep, The Shermanator is fucking high. Why take another WR when you already have 3 solid ones. I can understand Rodgers being picked at 24, but the rest of the draft should have been defence.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Fucking Chargers. elaborate
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Meh. McFadden is okay, but meh. I wanted Jackson.
iggymcfly Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Just looking at Arizona right now, I think they're having a good enough draft that it could get them back to the playoffs next year. I honestly think they got both the best offensive player and best defensive player in the draft. Antrel Rolle is probably the most talented guy in the draft, as he's an absolute shut-down corner and is actually ready to go at the NFL level now. Arrington got robbed of the Heisman trophy last year, and gains yards like none other. I see him running for 1000-1200 yards next year, and he should be a strong candidate for Rookie of the Year.
Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Good pick by the 49ers taking Frank Gore
therealworldschampion Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Good to see Frank Gore get drafted, I've seen his story (knee injuries, going pro to pay his mom's medical bills) and its good to see someone who went through all of that suceed and be drafted.
Vern Gagne Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 I'm sorry but Kiper is wrong saying San Fran. is in a low risk high reward drafting Frank Gore. Gore might be a steal...but a 2-14 team, in the 3rd round is taking alot more of a risk than a Philadelphia or NE would be.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Is James the only Badger drafted so far?
Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Browns have done a good job with their first three picks. Suprised that the Raiders took Andrew Walters, when they still have Tuiassosopo (sp?)
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 I just want to say that Richie Incognito is a cool name.
yankovic fan Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 David Greene out of Georgia just got drafted by the Seahawks. He always was a very impressive SEC player and looks like he's going to be stuck as a backup to ole Matt H.
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Any guesses on which out of these QBs get taken next? Timmy Chang Jason White Chris Rix
yankovic fan Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Out of those, it's a tough call... You have injury prone White Interception prone Chang (Who I respect the hell out of anyway) And Rix... That is a VERY tough question.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Im surprised the Ravens got Dan Cody...he was suposed to be a 1rst rounder and he fell all the way to #53.. Overall, Clayton, Cody and Terry, I have to give the Ravens a B on the draft.
therealworldschampion Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 With the Moats selection I guess the Bills were asking too much for Henry. Patterson, Brown, McCoy, and Moats. I'd give it a B for today...
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Maurice Clarett? Guess the much-praised Bronco system will be put to the test with him.
therealworldschampion Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Heh it'll be interesting between Plummer and Clarett for who melts down first...
Cartman Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Well the Patriots REALLY needed to plug some holes and upgrade the O-line and did that very well today in my opinion. Solid B.
LaParkaMarka Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 The Broncos took Clarrett? How funny is that. Did Adrian McPherson get drafted?
CanadianChris Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 We got Clarett? I just threw up in my mouth.
teke184 Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 That POS Clarett got drafted in the first day? He must have REALLY impressed someone with his last set of workouts.
Slayer Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Or worse, Mike Sherman. "zzzzzzz... Huh, what?! Wide receiver? Sure, whatever... ...zzzzzzz"
