Carnival Posted May 5, 2005 Report Posted May 5, 2005 another random question. do i need to zip or rar the files together or something to upload them? thank you.
The Decemberists Posted May 6, 2005 Author Report Posted May 6, 2005 You don't *have* to but it would probably be easier. That's what I'm planning to do.
Guest Brian Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 My entry  I'm not sure if all my songs fit the bill, but I tried to stay within the general perameters of transport, through either title or topic. If things don't mesh with the topic, I have a few alternatives. That list is going to come out in Alpahabetical Order, but I actually had a song order I'll recommend:  Take the "A" Train (4:41) Duke Ellington Thunder Road (4:48) Bruce Springsteen Drive in, Drive Out (5:54) Dave Matthews Band Crosstown Traffic (2:19) Jimi Hendrix Drive (4:31) R.E.M. 5ive Gears in Reverse (2:38) Elvis Costello & the Attractions Magic Bus (3:17) The Who Train in Vain (3:09) The Clash She'll Drive The Big Car (4:35) David Bowie Proud Mary (3:09) Creedence Clearwater Revival Learning to Fly (4:03) Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Flyin' High (3:49) Marvin Gaye Spaceship (5:24) Kanye West Ft. Consequence Walking on the Moon (5:02) The Police The Long and Winding Road (3:37) The Beatles
Special K Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 I'll probably do a water album within the next week.
Mystery Eskimo Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 (edited) 5ive Gears in Reverse (2:38)Â Elvis Costello & the Attractions Train in Vain (3:09)Â The Clash Heh, I had these two. When yousendit decides to stop being a bastard I'll post mine. Â Edit- which is now: Transport, motorways and tramlines... Edited May 7, 2005 by Mystery Eskimo
Guest Brian Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 I wanted to put Talking Heads - Take Me to the River, but I wasn't sure if it was close enough to the actual situation of transport so I cut it. I went with the road songs and vehicles instead.
The Decemberists Posted May 8, 2005 Author Report Posted May 8, 2005 I hadn't planned so far ahead for another competition, but yeah, that seems a good idea.
Beast Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 My entry: http://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=137H1JA...XT1H66975OPBUAW
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 my album  To avoid confusion with other albums with the same name, mine is the one which starts with Car Song by Ooberman.
Mystery Eskimo Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 My Lovely Horse!!!! I couldn't resist that one.
Guest Thrashist Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 Haha based on all of your tastes, I'm sure I don't have much of a winner on my hands: Â http://s51.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1634ZXQ...CC0NIVZULBV6AFA Â And the topic of transport isn't much of a popular one in my CD collection either. Ah well..
The Decemberists Posted May 9, 2005 Author Report Posted May 9, 2005 Here is the marking sheet for the entries. If there are any others that end up being entered then you can add them yourself. Hopefully the score's will add them selves up for each CD. Â When you've marked them put the score you've ended up for each CD up on the board and then we can work out the overall winner.
Guest Brian Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 I have my evaluation ready. Do you want it posted or e-mail?
The Decemberists Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 It's probably best to post the overall mark for each CD on here, to ensure that I don't "mis-count" the marks and announce myself as the winner
Mystery Eskimo Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Are we setting a deadline or anything? I'll try to have mine for the weekend.
The Decemberists Posted May 11, 2005 Author Report Posted May 11, 2005 Yeah, go on then. The deadline for marking is the end of the weekend.
Guest Brian Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 I have mine filled out, but didn't rate myself. That's alright; everyone rating themselves would be like automatic forty-fives.

rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Haven't had a chance to mark yet, but will do shortly.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I did this, but couldn't figure out how to convert the whole mix to one solitary file, so I deleted it. Â A shame, as I included both Ludacris' "Southern Hospitality" and all 23+ minutes of Kraftwerk's "Autobahn."
Guest Brian Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Favourite song I hadn't heard before was the Decemberists. Same here.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Morrisey 48 Brian 46 Beast 46 Eskimo 42 Thrashist 41
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 I did this, but couldn't figure out how to convert the whole mix to one solitary file, so I deleted it. Put it ito a single folder and zip or rar it.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 You'll have to explain what that means. I still may do this by the end of the night.
