swan 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 http://www.chicagowrestling.com/iwahighlaind5-1-05.htm An announcement was made to the IWA-MS fans at the end of intermission on Friday night in Valparaiso concerning the Lincoln Center in Highland, IN making the decision to no longer host IWA-MS live events. We attempted to convince Lincoln Center management to allow us to run one last show at the building on 5/28 and they refused. Their decision was due to fans drinking alcohol in the parking lot during the shows. Alcohol containers were found in the parking lot the day after the last show... and parents bring their children to the facility for activities on Sundays. Management of the building told us that the "atmosphere" we bring with us is not something they wish to deal with any longer. We will, from this point forward, be enforcing a strict policy concerning alcohol that any fans bring into the vicinity of any of the venues in which we run. It will NOT be tolerated, and if any fans are caught with alcohol in the future at any IWA-MS events, those fans will be permanently banned from attending our events. We cannot, and will not tolerate it. It has already cost us our most financially successful venue. If you are a fan of our product, respect the guidelines we and the venues we promote our shows at have set... and wait until after the show if you want to drink. We are set to return to Valparaiso on Friday, 5/27. The "No Blood, No Guts, No Glory 2005" event featuring the double ring, double cage War Games match was scheduled to take place at the Lincoln Center on 5/28. We've contacted all of the venues which we currently promote shows at within the general Highland/Chicago area, and none of them have 5/28 available. We are exploring other options, and several locations within a 20 or so mile radius of Highland, to try to hold the show on the same date, just at a new location. If we are unable to confirm a new location for 5/28, the alternate date we're looking at is the originally scheduled June Highland date, 6/18. We've booked the Hammond Armory for that date, regardless. As soon as it is determined when and where NBNGNG '05 will take place, an announcement will be made on the web site. Fans who have tickets to the show that wind up unable to attend either at the new location or on a potentially rescheduled date will be able to obtain refunds. We thank the fans for their patience, and we will keep everyone informed about the NBNGNG '05 event as soon as arrangements are made with a new venue

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2005 That sucks, even if they continue to run Highland, cause that was a cool building for wrestling.
Guest Evolution Report post Posted May 6, 2005 I've heard that 6/18 has been more or less confirmed for the Wargames match. Losing Highland is a pretty big blow, but Midlothian and Herrin should be able to make up for it. Seriously, going to Herrin is an experience.
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 I guess this means they won't be able to book Sandman or Jake the Snake

Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2005 Hopefully they can start getting Highand-level crowds in at least one of their other towns, having only crowds of 70-100 or so can't be good for their already tight finances. Unless they get another building in town i guess the Chris Hero Highland losing streak will last forever now.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2005 That sucks. Reminds me of my local Boys and Girls clubs stupid decision to kick out the UIWA back in 01 . I'm not sure why, but I guessed it was cuz of the bad rap wrestling gets in the media, plus there were a lot of kids going to the shows without parents or guardians(and most of them sat and cursed all night ) I miss my local indies, damn my city.
