There's a feature on the Fox-11 news right now about a popular phenomenon in urban LA called "crunkin'". It's apparently the type of dance the kids like to practice in the dirrrrrrrtay south. It must only be new to middle aged white people, though, since I've seen shit like this in clubs and music videos for years.

 

In a somewhat related note, the first man who was interviewed regarding this "new" dance fad was an overweight black man in clown makeup and a rainbow colored wig. His name was Tommy Johnson.

One time when I was watching the news, they had a feature about weed. They said how there is a new way to smoke using a cigar, called a blunt. This was about a month ago that I saw this, and blunts have been around for a long ass time.

Here in atlanta, they had this big eyed runaway bitch as the LEAD story and took the first 10 minutes of the broadcast talking about her. then they were going to commercial and said "police need your help finding two escaped murderers and on rapist who escaped and could be in the Metro atlanta area. Details when we get back."

 

 

You mean to fucking tell me that Two Murderers escape with a RAPIST and they don't make the lead fucking story?

I was listening to NPR on Sunday afternoon and they had the president of CNN on for a chat about why American news sucks and why they won't shut up about the runaway bride. His response was basically "okay listen, all our other journalism is good, but we have to do this shit," which was kind of funny or sad I dunno. Also, he said Fox News wasn't CNN's competition, because CNN was in the news business and Fox was in the talk radio business. He ripped off Vince McMahon.

As much as I'd like to see CNN, or any one of them, jump ahead of the pack, the three are basically interchangeable.

The girl anchor on channel 5 news at 5 am is really cute.

If you're referring to KTLA-5/The WB, I'll have to check that out. I rarely watch the news, since the internet takes care of my current events needs, but I left the TV on Fox after American Dad.
