Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2005 Here are some awesome looking screens I found of Sonic Rush, for the Nintendo DS. In twelve months time, the DS is going to have one bad ass game arsenal, I can't wait. Double screen levels, baby
edotherocket 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2005 Yes, it looks cute. But can you actually play games on it? Take a look at these brand new photos of Game Boy Micro (which was first announced by Nintendo on Tuesday) and try telling us that there's any sensible way to actually play games on it. Unless you're a particularly small child, we just don't see how you can negotiate the D-pad and buttons without being made to feel like an enormous clod with shovels for hands. As for the screen, Engadget reports that it's "squint-inducing" and "definitely pushing the limits of how small a screen on a portable game console can get and still be useable". Hmmm. Meanwhile, Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the company has "no plans to discontinue Game Boy Advance SP. We think the two will be compatible." - Gamesradar.com

How the hell can Gameradar.com even go and question something about a product they haven't even tried out yet and go off what another company is saying about the system? 2. Who the fuck is gameradar.com?
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted May 21, 2005 They have a good point. Thing actually does look way too small. I'll stick with buying a DS when I get the money for it.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2005 Sonic Rush... That's the Sonic DS game I couldn't remember the name of. I played it on Day 1. I've never been a huge Sonic fan. I like the games, but I feel that they get stale and repetitive. With that said, I loved Sonic Rush. Using the 2 scerens for bigger levels was excellent, and the transitions were very fluid. It's probably the most fun I've had playing a 2D Sonic game, with the possible exception of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. That, along with quite a few other titles shown at E3, made me really want a DS. About my report for Day 3... I fell asleep due to extreme exhaustion after eating dinner last night. Sorry about that. I'll post my Day 3 experience and pics from all days in a short while. And yes, I was referring to Shigeru Miyamoto. However, my pics from Day 3 aren't uploaded yet and the camera software won't work with my computer, so you may have to settle for the 86 pics from days 1 and 2 for now. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2005 Glad to hear it about Rush. It appeared as if they're getting back to the core of what made Sonic work (apparently this one has a mere 2 selectable characters; fine by me). The level design in the first Advance left a lot to be desired, IMO. There wasn't enough variety. There were tons of huge levels you'd think you could rush through, but traps and spikes were galore, placed especially to kill any momentum you could muster. I'd briefly played 2 and 3 and seemed the same. And the alternate characters kind of mucked things up. Post the pics when you can, thanks.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2005 Sonic Gems Collection on the Cube was also quite fun. I had never played Sonic CD before, but it was as good as people have claimed.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 Bigger version of a pic above: Hahahaha. Advance Wars and FF Tactics Advance has gotta be a blast on that. ROFL.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 What the hell!? I have man-sized hands, there is no fucking way I could operate something like that.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 I have small hands, so I'm more concerned about being able to see what's happening on that tiny little screen. Pictures don't even do it justice. It's like one of those little keychain games.
