You obviously haven't read my review of Takada/Tamura vs. Albright/Severn UWF-i.

I like half of the people in that match, the other half... ewwwww.

I'm guessing it is not good.

It was really good. You don't get much better suplexes than the ones Albright and Severn deliver.

...a sample...

Albright comes in, bodylocks Tamura and throws him over for a SWEET belly2belly. Goddamn, Albright rules. They tease the dragon suplex, but Tamura gets out. They are picking up the intensity, the crowd gets it and becomes hotter. Tamura is able to get a single leg crab and drags Albright into the centre of the ring and really starts to put the pressure on, ROARING when he’s applying the hold. Tamura is finding his way, and with his new-found confidence he is saying to the conflicted Albright, “BE TRUE TO YOURSELF!” Tamura is strong and heterosexual! And tired. He lets go of Albright. Albright is ANGRY. He hears Tamuras words and leads in with a forearm as if to say “YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH!! NOBODY DOES!!!” and grabs Tamuras back for a GERMANDEATHPLEX!~ SWEET JESUS! Tamura is DEAD. FEEL~! Gary’s pain. The count is on, it is 8-16.

Takada tags in. They do some clinch work, Takada attempting another rolling leg lock but Gary defends. Takada works some nice knees. The break, Takada delivers a left mid kick which connects but Gary also catches it and takes Takada down. Albright takes Takadas back and tries for a german, but really, he is professing his love for Takada. But Takada resists, because Takada thinks it is a fight, and this enrages Albright. He clubs Takadas back and picks Takada up and delivers ANOTHER Germandeathplex. Albright RULES!.

While Takada is laying prone on the mat, Gary rushes over and rides him. The last defiance Takada made of Garys romantic advances and profession of love put the American over the edge. Whereas before Albright looked on almost in regret of causing Takada pain - of questioning whether or not destroying Takada would make the feelings go away- now Albright is convinced that his homosexuality was never meant to be. He applies the full nelson and locks his hands. The crowd is cheering “TA KA DA”. He struggles to get up, and it shows on his face. It is a catch 22. The only way Takada can break the hold is to get up, but if he gets up he leaves himself open to a dragon suplex. Takada stays down and lets Gary make his next move. Gary lets go and tries for a submission. He lets go of that and Takada is feeling the wear and tear the big man is putting him.

I sense some DVDR influence in that review, ;)

I figured Severn would make the match suck, I didn't know how good he was at working shoots. I hate Takada, regardless of his skill in this particular style.

I'd recommend watching Tamura vs. Frank Shamrock from Rings, it's the only worked shoot that Frank's done to my knowledge.

Oh please, he knows I'm joking.

... partially.

Ha, I wish they had anti-Auburn and anti-Notre Dame flags too. They have an anti-Duke but its kind of stupid, "Dook can go to hell" or something.

Of course :)

Severn, from the UWF-i matches that I have seen, is very good at the style.

How could you hate Takada's work?! TAKADA RUELZ! It helps add depth when you see Takada rock in UWF-i, and then get destroyed by Rickson by -from all moves- an armbar, and then see Sakuraba pick up the torch.

RRR: Needs more RINGS, period.

See, I'd totally go along with an anti-Auburn flag. I don't dislike Auburn though. In fact, they're one of the few SEC teams I'll actively follow, along with Georgia, Alabama, and Florida (only to see whenever they lose).

I think if Kerr was interested, he could be very good with this style. Randleman and Coleman were surprisingly good when they did this style, Kerr already has the look and the strength.

Actually I miscalculated and it was actually my 999th post, I made some random post in another thread so I wouldn't look stupid, :D

Getting to 1000 is like turning 19.

Doesn't mean shit.

No, getting to 500 is like 19, getting to 1000 is like 20. Then getting to like 2000 is 21, because everything after that is pretty meaningless, except like 10,000 which is like the big 40.

I don't want 10000 posts. That's just too damned much. I like being a semi-lurker.

Congrats on 1000....its a fun number to have. You aren't a newb, but you are not a spammer.

It was easier to get to 10,000 when they had the Raw threads here.

I compare it to getting 300 wins in baseball, just not as many anymore.

See, it looks small so I thought it might be you on some small show. I remember watching Aerts KO a guy with a Ponytail with one of the crispest high kicks I've ever seen, then he just gave a manly hug to his manager, I don't know if you know which one I am talking about. It wasn't so much a ponytail as much as it was more like a muay thai hair style, you know the one, the mullet with the little bit of hair sticking out.

You still train at SharkTank? I saw a documentary that featured them on this KOTC DVD set I bought. It was around 2000 or so, how long have you been with them?

I'm pretty sure that was Dino Homesy, and that was like Aerts' second match in K-1.

I never trained with Shark Tank, Sean O'Haire used to train at my Muay Thai gym but he left for Vegas to train with the Shark Tank for his MMA and K-1 ventures. My trainer's always like "Talked to Sean the other day, he says can't nobody train him over there worth a crap." Guess Sean can't find a Muay Thai trainer worth a damn over in Vegas. Interestingly enough, my trainer's name is Rick Davis, which is the name of O'Haire's JJ instructor in Vegas.

wow I never thought about creating a thread to celebrate. Man wish I had lol.

Anyhow congrats!!! I remember my 1000th post, it wasn't that long ago.

I was happy since it took me almost three years to get it (due to not having a PC at my home until early 04)
