More Furnature mishaps involving WWE

The following is an excerpt from an article in the Sioux City Journal, available online at siouxcityjournal.com:

WWE wrestlers wreck sofa owned by Musketeers

WWE wrestlers just didn't toss each other around at the Gateway Arena May 17 -- they also heaved a sofa over a security fence and wrecked it.

"We had cleaned a room for them to use," Glenn Walinski, events center facilities manager, told the Convention Center/Auditorium/Tourism Board Friday. "We had locked up the equipment and furniture" from the Musketeers' locker room to be used by the male wrestlers participating in the WWE televised event.

After the show was over, Walinski said he walked into the dressing room and discovered a davenport in the middle of the room.

"It was ripped in three our four main spots. I really don't know how it got there, but I have my suspicions."

He later said it wouldn't have been hard for some beefy wrestlers to climb over the metal fence and lift the davenport over the top. The sofa could have been ripped on the top of the fence. But, he acknowledged, no one saw it happen and no one reported the damage.

Interesting how they mention no names in this, just........ "Male WWE wrestlers"

Poor title. You hint at some kind of glass ceiling conspiracy, but the only thing they have to go on here is suspicion and a guess.

"Well, I guess a roid money or two could toss a couch over a cyclone fence." != Some guy breaking shit in the middle of a crowded hotel lobby

Fluff like this should be closed and deleted. If there were pictures or video or any kind of proof of what went on, then it might be worth posting about. As it is, there's only vague suspicion and, at best, a poor attempt to connect this to Rhyno getting fired.

It's also interesting that you can't just post the entire article, which was a waste of my time to read...

WWE wrestlers just didn't toss each other around at the Gateway Arena May 17 -- they also heaved a sofa over a security fence and wrecked it.

He later said it wouldn't have been hard for some beefy wrestlers to climb over the metal fence and lift the davenport over the top. The sofa could have been ripped on the top of the fence. But, he acknowledged, no one saw it happen and no one reported the damage.

Walinski said he told Jim Kronschnabel, the hockey team's president, that the city will fix or replace the sofa. CCAT Board members asked if the repair bill could be paid by the WWE.

"We took responsibility for it," he said. "The show was already settled before I discovered it at 2 in the morning."

"Don't we have insurance to cover this?" Zena Berenstein, board member, asked.

CCAT Board staffer Mike Rager said the insurance policy carries a large deductible, meaning the repair or replacement cost would have to be picked up by the CCAT Bureau.

In other business, the CCAT Board directed its marketing committee to send a letter to Doug Moody, manager of the Long Lines Family Rec Center, to discuss his plans to hold wedding receptions in the rec center. Board members expressed concern that the rec center would compete with the convention center for business.

Board member Miles Patton said the CCAT Bureau is projected to lose $659,707 over its budgeted amount this year. Revenues continue to fall short of budget. The majority of that loss is attributed to the convention center.

"My feeling was our board didn't have a real problem with this," Tim Seaman, CCAT Board chairman, said. "The difference would be if he aggressively marketed that business."

The board also voiced concern over security and possible vandalism because the Gateway Arena's inside doors can't be securely locked at the entrance to the rec center. The board asked its facilities committee to meet with Moody and formulate recommendations.

Well, from the way that reads, they don't really know who did it, so they have no choice but to use 'male WWE wrestlers'.

Sounds more like "Lita and male WWE wrestlers".

What do you expect from Trivia?

Maybe he doesn't have his files at hand.
