Brett Favre Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 JETER's FIRST GRAND SLAM~!#@!#@!#$!@#!@#
Precious Roy Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Jeter with his first grand salami! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Who's got the longest streak now?
mike546 Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 I *think* its Varitek. If I'm right, you remember stuff like that after YES shows THE GRAPHIC~! everytime Jeter comes to the plate with the bases loaded.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 My god, Buck and McCarver need to get off Jeter's dick. It was off JOE BOROWSKI for christ's sake.
Brett Favre Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 What as it with the Yankees doing something and it suddenly turns into a "IT WAS OFF THIS GUY", "IT WAS OFF THIS TEAM"? Where the hell is this when other teams accomplish something big or important?
mike546 Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 The guy had 33 saves before injury. He cannot be THAT bad.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 What as it with the Yankees doing something and it suddenly turns into a "IT WAS OFF THIS GUY", "IT WAS OFF THIS TEAM"? Where the hell is this when other teams accomplish something big or important? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps because it was off JOE BOROWSKI and it was hit by the guy who supposedly the second coming Christ.

When Bonds hit HR 600 or whatever, it wasn't "JEEZ, IT WAS OFF THIS GUY". It doesn't matter who it's off.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 The guy had 33 saves before injury. He cannot be THAT bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uh, yeah he can be. One season of excelling in an area that doesn't even necessarily constitute being good doesn't mean he's not bad. He's been okay at best his entire career. He's been awful the last two seasons. Who gives a shit if he had 33 saves one season? Danny Graves had 41 last season. Does that mean he wasn't garbage? That has nothing to do with it though. When Bonds hit HR 600 or whatever, it wasn't "JEEZ, IT WAS OFF THIS GUY". It doesn't matter who it's off. What's Bonds have to do with this? Don't act like the media hasn't been on Jeter's jock for years almost in the same fashion as Bonds.
Brett Favre Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 But that's not the point. Everytime a Yankee does something, it's always followed by "It's only off of this guy" or "Only to this team". It doesn't happen with any other team.
Precious Roy Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Someone sounds a little grumpy about dropping to 0-2 in this series
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 But that's not the point. Everytime a Yankee does something, it's always followed by "It's only off of this guy" or "Only to this team". It doesn't happen with any other team. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that's all in your head. You Yankee fans are way too defensive anytime someone questions them. They're on a hot streak right now and with a payroll like that, they should be. Sorry if not everyone is as amazed by getting homers of Jose Mesa and Joe Borowski as you guys are.
Brett Favre Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 13 run inning, it's only the Devil Rays. 10 game winning steak, it's against wack AL West Teams. The extra inning comeback win, off of Mesa. Jeter's first grand slam, it's only Borowski. Do all of your team's achievements only come off the Cardinals? I mean really, you only here it when the Yankees do something here.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 When I dismissed Giambi's home run, it was a cautionary tale that it does not mean a resurgance to old form for Giambi. I didn't mean to dismiss his accomplishment. In this case as well, it is nice to see Jeter finally come through in the clutch. Maybe now he can get the monkey off his back.
Precious Roy Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Jeter's second home run of the day, but it was off some dude named Bartosh!??! WTF?!! I think he snuck into a Cub's uniform when Dusty wasn't looking
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 By the way, for those of you who love manipulating meaningless statistics, over 2/3rds of Jeter's career home runs have come with the bases empty!
Precious Roy Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 He's hit leadoff or #2 his whole career, not surprising
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 For what it's worth, I think Bartosh has given up at least one homer his last few appearances. 13 run inning, it's only the Devil Rays. It was impressive, but c'mon, the Devil Rays are hardly a major league team. It was an impressive feat, but they were right back to sucking ass the next day. 10 game winning steak, it's against wack AL West Teams. And didn't they proceed to go on a terrible losing streak shortly after that AL West bend came to a close? You guys may think people unfairly crap on the Yankees and their accomplishments, but for as much money as this team makes and as good as they're supposed to be (going by pre-season analysists), you'll have to excuse those of us who don't drop their jaws in amazement when these things happen now and again.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 He's #2 his whole career, not surprising <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed.
Brett Favre Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Whatever, I don't ask you to drop your jaw, but if "IT WAS OFF THIS GUY, WHO CARES" is all you have to add, then don't say anything.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Whatever, I don't ask you to drop your jaw, but if "IT WAS OFF THIS GUY, WHO CARES" is all you have to add, then don't say anything. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Buck: "GRAND SLAM MANNY RAMIREZ" and meanwhile some Yankee fan would say "It's just CARL PAVANO, it's not a big deal!" it's feels like a hippocrat is in this thread.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Yankees has won 26 titles. Cubs have won... how many? Let them be defensive over these things, Cena's Writer.

The posts would be similar to the ones last night, as in, ranting on Pavano.
Bruiser Chong Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 Yankees has won 26 titles. Cubs have won... how many? Let them be defensive over these things, Cena's Writer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't know the Yankees were a single person.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 I was simply talking to Cena's Writer, he's the one that's I talk to the most of the Yankees fans.

MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Tejada and Sosa go back to back and its 2-0 Orioles.
mike546 Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Kim cannot stop a rally, can he? Looks fine through 3 and a third, then just BLOWS up.

Guest Fishyswa Posted June 19, 2005 Report Posted June 19, 2005 Finally! I don't care who he hit it off of, the point is he hit it. Never understood how someone can do that well with the bases loaded and never hit a granny, especially since he's a 15-20 hr a year guy.
