Phil Jackson accepts Laker Job

Recommended Posts

I agree that VX is a level headed Laker fan (along with Spicy McHaggis). I just had to straighten out the bit about the Kings. I just figure it's only fair to write us off when we actually fall off. We've stumbled a bit from being an elite Western Conf. powerhouse to just a Western playoff team, but until we start playing losing basketball, I figure we're not that bad.

Thanks Dangerous, but this was sort of my point here. I just don't see how a team where Mike Bibby and Brad Miller are going to be good enough to make the playoffs next season, and perhaps calling the Kings' fortunes dismal was too premature and probably should've been re-phrased to something else. But like The Californian said, I don't see anywhere for the Kings to go but down, especially with most of their top players from their contending days gone.

(Also, remember our shitty ballclub that didn't make the playoffs still went 2-3 against yours that made the 6th seed, with 1 or 2 of those losses coming after the Rudy T. resignation which knocked the Lakers from the 5th seed to the 10th- so, the gap isn't very wide after the top 4, which was kind of the point I was making. No offense intended to Kings fans, I feel sorry for you guys, I really do.)

This leads me to believe that the media is attempting to say that it's ok to have a dynasty, UNLESS you're a NY team. or that LA=Good and NY=Evil, which is even more retarded a statement, considering that my current home state is filled with more phonies, posers, fake movie stars and celebrities and backstabbers than you can shake a stick at.

Oh you can just fuck right off. Seriously. I was raised in L.A. practically all my life, and I have NEVER seen these so-called materialistic "phonies, posers, and fake movie stars" that all these outsiders seem to be looking at. Maybe it's just that they're looking at only the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and fail to ignore damn near everything else about Los Angeles, let alone the rest of California?

Honestly, I've never seen so many fake, hypocritical, rude people until I moved here to Miami. This city is damn near asinine with that sort of behavior, and it's influenced by New York, so it doesn't surprise me. However, even what I just said is a silly, broad overgeneralization of things; you'll find those kinds of people everywhere. L.A. gets hated on for that sort of bullshit more than everyone else though, and that's fucked up.

Finally we get to see what Phil can do with a real coaching challenge...rebuilding a team and getting them to the championship level as opposed to being almost there. But why would he go back to L.A. after he got run out last year.

Better fits might have been Detroit (if Brown went to the front office in C-town), Miami, or even Dallas.
