Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 I get the feeling they're building to a Joe v Daniels match, which means Daniels could be losing the X Division Title soon.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 No Surrender might be my first TNA ppv...
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Honestly, that lineup is incredible. The main event should be a good-very good brawl. Styles and Waltman will work, and with Lynn as the referee and his history with both, it'll have a good story as well. Daniels vs. Williams should steal the show, Joe vs. Sabin should be very good-great, and the tag match should *finally* see James choose which side he wants to be on. I'm also guessing Alex Shelley and Michael Shane vs. AMW?
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 And only one listed appearance by Jarrett. I'm guessing he's facing Gowen at the PPV in some fashion based on their angle
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 A good spot for JJ...5 minute nothingmatch with 1-legged guy in the first hour. Thats about what his actual overness warrants...
RedJed 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Kind of "eh" about these results for the next 4 shows. Expected a little more out of the new booking team since they've had tons of time to work on things, and also since the shows building the last ppv and the ppv itself were pretty strong. This just seems lackluster as a whole other than a few things here and there, like Daniels/Skipper, as well as Lynn and Mitchell being brought back into the storylines. Things like whats goin on with AMW is not addressed here, nor is the ongoing and overdone Outlaw/Road Dogg storyline. One interesting note here is the only involvement of Jarrett in the whole taping is a run in on Zach Gowen?!!! I'm sure there will be cynics, but it seems very clear right now that the booking committee and Panda have JJ in a corner with not many options other to agree with what they want or else get out of the company - and make no mistake about it, that is Jarrett's fault completely that it's led to this. The bitch move JJ pulled leading into the ppv with wanting to win the match for ridiculous reasons (one was the feeling he needed to win to keep strong his KOTM monikor) has probably alienated even the strongest Jarrett supporters within the company. So anyway its either JJ v. Gowen at the ppv, JJ v. Jeff Hardy (oh yay) or else maybe even no Jarrett at all. That speaks volumes of the current state of power in TNA, plus the fact that they didnt follow up from the ppv and just do Jarrett-Raven II, which logically should be the main event for this next ppv and might draw somewhat. Perhaps it was suggested to Jarrett, but something tells me that if Jarrett didnt even want to work the KOTM match, which wouldnt even have had him do a fucking job, there is no way in hell he will legitimately put Raven over. All of that on the preshow on Sunday may have just been a way to move Raven in the match and Jarrett out of it, and not necessarily build to a future rematch with them. The card for the ppv as they have it now does not look strong to me. Not feeling Williams-Daniels really. 3lk v. Outlaw/Brown?!! What a horrible waste of time there. Joe v. Sabin might be good, in fact real good. ME of Raven v. Abyss in a double dog collar match to me is not what should be headlining this ppv. Good to see they have some sense to bring back Mitchell to manage Abyss which is a plus, but I just dont have a real strong desire to see this match. Styles v. Waltman with Lynn as the ref is definately smart though which could lead to a tremendous series of matches with the three down the road. I dont know, I just dont see the current ppv lineup strong at all and maybe they feel they should tread slowly until they get back on TV and Matt Hardy comes in (which is slated to be on this ppv I guess - they might announce that ahead of time which would give some more merit to a weak card) but my feelings is that they should be working real hard to keep any momentum around during this important time in the companies history. Honestly, TNA should have done, if anything, a Hardy Boys reunion on this ppv in a tag match against whoever (AMW?) to draw some legitimate interest in this, as well as Raven/Jarrett 2. Guest *KNK* Report post Posted June 22, 2005 I love the Jarrett booking. From running the show to feuding with the OLM in what is essentially a meaningless low-card angle. I might get this show if they pad a couple more matches on there.

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 If they had TV, it would have been reported by now, don't you think? They do, however, apparently have notions of showing Impact on their website.

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Abyss finally getting his one on one ppv title shot? Wow. Team Canada vs. Naturals, Daniels vs. Williams, Joe vs. Sabin and even Styles vs. Waltman look good to me for the show.
Fro 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 It's kind of hard to book really great shows when you have to tape four shows in one night. I think they did as well as you can expect.
RedJed 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 It's kind of hard to book really great shows when you have to tape four shows in one night. I think they did as well as you can expect. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, but like I said they have had quite a long time to plan ahead for this. But maybe they figure there was no point to have blowaway shows considering they arent on cable right now. There might be more stuff they add to each show too in post production. With that said, I dont know how large their syndicated network is (I would guess not very big at all) but apparently Impact will be aired in it's place, so TNA does have a little TV coverage, fortunately a channel (Sunshine Network out of Florida) which I have. When you have so much stuff on these shows, it's hard to figure out how they're going to put all these matches together into a show or what backstage stuff they're going to add to flesh things out. zyn081 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 The midcard of the PPV looks good. but piss on Abyss vs Raven main event. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, Abyss is the most deserving, since he has been shafted on so my times when it comes to a 1 on 1 shot. Let AJ finish his business with Sean. Let JJ be fed to Brown. Then Raven can face AJ. And then Brown can face JJ.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 I just don't think Abyss should ever be main eventing PPV's. But he's over, and they do pretty good job of booking him as a true monster unlike Kane. I just don't think abyss has what it takes to main event. It's opinion, not based on facts, cuz the guy can wrestle, its just a feeling. I just don't think he can really go anywhere with that character, he's kinda stuck in a lame mankind/kane character, and he can never evolve or freshen up his character. While him and Styles had a good match at the all cage ppv, I just didnt feel that as the main event, nor as Abyss as a real legitimate contender to the title. But with that said, he's been baited and switched long enough to where a title match is warranted. I just think it would have been better fit for not right now, as TNA needs a really strong main event now that they are without TV. Mitchell managing him will likely help though. Carnival 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 Ya he needs a mouthpiece. Thats a good move. I just don't think Abyss vs Raven is a main event people are gonna wanna pay for. I'd like to know what Jarrett is gonna do for this PPV? Job to Gowen?
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 I'd like to know what Jarrett is gonna do for this PPV? Job to Gowen? I think the Gowen thing is about Jarrett picking on "innocent" people, building up to Matt confronting him at the PPV. Don't know that for sure, but it seems to fit after his attack on the fan. He would have just retained that title by defeating Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles in a Handicapped match.
