CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 How long was Bret actually locked in the Crossfaced Chicken Wing for? I seem to remember, watching as a ten year old, shouting at my dad: "HE'S BEEN LOCKED IN THERE FOR 18 MINUTES AND HE HASNT QUIT!" Yes, I've always been a Hart mark. However, 18 minutes, in hindsight, doesn't sound accurate. Can anyone tell me how long it was on the Hitman for? I can't honestly say where my memory of this came from. It's even more intriguing by the fact that I'm currently drunk.

TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 Jesus, how did this go over at the time? How did the commentators pass the time?
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 A good half of it was played in split-screen with the build for Owen's heel-turn remember. Which was played so well, it drew the attention away from the ring for a decent amount of time.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 Ah, I remember the match in question now. This the match where Owen threw the towel? If it is, it's the match that I keep seeing clips of and never gotten round to watching.
Prime Time Andrew Doyle 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 It was 9 minutes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No Shit. I watched that match about a month ago and it seemed like much longer then that
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 I timed it out a long time ago. The match itself went 35:14.
spman 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 That is such a vastly under appreciated match, I would love to have that on DVD, it's one of my all time favorites.
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted July 3, 2005 i agree. It's a great old school performed during the Ill-fated "New Generation" era and the match alone makes it worth a required viewing but the amazing side story of Owen and Davey @ ringside and the hilarty that ensued there with Owen running around with Smith chasing him and then the amazingly dramatic finale with Owen begging mom to throw the towel was superb. The whole Hart Vs Hart feud was so brilliant. Who was booking that shit? We know it wasn't Vince since he was busy with the trial, Patterson had been "fired"... cawthon777 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2005 The trial ended before Summer Slam. I'm pretty certain Patterson was back by then. I believe it might have been Bill Watts; I know he was the one that pushed for the world title change at MSG 3 days later.
