AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2005 From insidepulse who stole it from Famitsu: Gunstar Heroes to be among new re-releases According to Japanese games mag Famitsu, Sega have announced more games in their "AGES" line of retro re-releases. Current reports suggest that the games scheduled for repackaging include the original Panzer Dragoon, last seen on the Saturn, and Space Harrier 2, originally released on the Genesis/Mega Drive. But the big news focuses on a disc, provisionally titles Gunstar Heroes Treasure Box. containing a whole slew of games from Lucard-favourites Treasure, the compilation will include Gunstar Heroes itself (a game still hailed today as an example of what a platform shoot-em-up should be like), as well as Alien Soldier (antoher space-shooter) and the surreal-but-actually-quite-good head-swapping platformer Dynamite Headdy Credit: Famitsu Awesome I've never been able to get ahold of Alien Soldier, which is a bossfest of a shoot 'em up that only came out in the UK and Japan, so hopefully we get it. Although remember that this is just for Japan. The previous "Sega Ages" releases were bundled together for the "Sega Classics Collection," except for the Phantasy Stars. We're supposed to get the "enhanced" versions of Phantasy Star 1, 2, and 4 on a collection in the US sometime, though (I suspect between the release of Duke Nukem Forever and GBA Mega Man Anniversary Collection ), still. So this doesn't guarantee we'll get them. So all of you do your civic duty and go buy Gunstar Super Heroes when its released. EDIT: It's wrong about Panzer Dragoon, though. The X-Box game, Orta, included the Saturn version on it.
devo 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2005 Hell, if Alien Soldier and Dynamite Headdy are half as good as Gunstar Heroes (still one of my favorite games ever), I'll definitely be buying that pack.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2005 Well, it won't exist as a "pack" yet, but if they released all of these Ages titles on one disc in the US, hell yeah it'd be worth it. Headdy is a great game, but I haven't played Alien Soldier. 1up's take on it. GameScience reports that Famitsu recently revealed several new titles to be resurrected in a new edition of Sega Ages for the PS2, including a tasty-looking Gunstar Heroes Treasure box. Also on hand will be minor hit Dynamite Headdy and, much to the chagrin of our editor-in-chief (who paid far too much for his copy), the ultra-rare Alien Soldier. Other noteworthy Sega Ages releases include Panzer Dragoon and Last Bronx. The titles will be polished up for rerelease. No word yet on dates or anything, but we'll keep you posted. ...um...Last Bronx? Okay, sure. *snicker*

Anya 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2005 Last Bronx sucks, but a lot of Sega fans like it. There's this subculture of Sega fans that love anything Model 2/3 no matter what the actual game is like. They just released Fighting Vipers so it's no surprise they'd do Last Bronx.
