Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) Hi All. Life @ the moment is much better. I've finished my master's and moved into an apartment overlooking the potomac, pretty swank. Anyways, now that all that is out of the way and I have time again in my life to devote, I would like to come back as a character. However, I would really like your ideas and direction. I have barely read about this Civil War...if the SJ character can be revamped and help tell the story, I think I would like to be involved in that. Just let me know. Thanks. Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 umm...anyone?
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 Hmmm... I think I have an idea. What if the Upstarts offer Popick their support, saying that they could lead him to redemption against the old guard, since in storyline we all pretty much hate you for past offenses? Then once you realize you're being used, you shift back our way?
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 I like that. It plays off his weakness and strength. Who are the upstarts? Perhaps, this HeldDown, I could be sitting in the audience, watching? (assuming this has already occured)? shoot, i need to read some HD's...will do. Thanks Zack. Just give me some ideas and I'll be happy to get back into this! Hoff 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 This has been bugging me for quite some time. Is "Stephen Joseph," i.e. you, as in the Trinity guy, the same character as "Stephen Joseph Popick," the Lightning Crew member, PR's manager/valet/agent/whatever? I always assumed so, because, well, friggin' duh, but then every now and then, and more specfically every now, I wonder, since at current the latter character is running around with Tha Puerto Rican and consequently wouldn't have much of a "comeback." And for what it's worth, SJ, whatever differences we've had, if you want to write "full-time" and be a part of this, I'm all for it.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Thanks Hoff. Umm...I had no idea I was still running around. It's the same guy. I guess I would be just taking back creative control! Guess I would need to split from PR then... Thanks for the pointer. Who writes for PR now (is it PRL?) and when's the last time he used me...I am catching up on HeldDown shows currently. Hoff 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 It's PR all right, he's changed his posting name to "Ed Wood Caulfield." You show up occasionally, not really doing a lot of note, but you're there. You'll be happy to know you're accompanying PR and Lindsay Gonzales to the ring for their match at LTP.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 (edited) Good. I think I will break myself away from them at that time. Thats handy information. Now, to sound like a broken record, could you give me a very brief idea of what the upstarts/originals angle is supposed to be? I thought about how I'd turn to the originals...something about recognizing false praise, whatever, and deciding that while I might not like and be liked by all of the originals, having their real respect mattered more than false friends... or something. Even though I cant see SJ Ever really being face-ish to Malibu. Thanks Hoff Edited July 13, 2005 by Stephen Joseph
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 True dat. Popick/Malibu need to have the CWM/Malibu dynamic, although in the case of CWM, he grudgingly respects Malibu. Popick just flat out hates him, but works with him "out of convenience".
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Plus Black, Brannigan and CWM would all be hostile to SJ. Would add to the unstable nature of the Original's side; something I think is needed as we'll probably have the numbers advantage.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 There definitely can't be full unity in the Originals in the early stages of this angle. We'd have the factions to feed off of (TOE, Zack/SG/Caboose, maybe Zack and Peter Knight if PK is on our side (and the reasons for that should shine through in my promo this week). We'll obviously work it out, but the unified front needs to come from The Upstarts for a while.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 (edited) I can see Tony/SJ working together, and SG/SJ working together (given fictional and real life happenings). PK and SJ have no history... A case can be made for DB to put aside his hating of SJ given past successes together. Other than that, we could use Poet as part of the faction... In the end, part of SJ's alliance with the Originals must come out of the fact that (i assume) the outcasts threaten the tradition of the oaoast, and doesn't want to see them destroy what I think he would view as partly his creation. So the Originals are: Tony Dan Zack SG CWM Caboose Knight and the Outcasts are? w/ SJ initially? Will an Original move over to the outcasts? CWM and SJ should really have to tag together too...Would have that whole Raven/Dreamer feel to it Edited July 13, 2005 by Stephen Joseph
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 So long as they don't work it out too much. I don't see a group hug at the end of this whole thing
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2005 Rodez will be an Original too. He'll be like an 'Original In Training' or something, because obviously he should be an Upstart.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2005 Very cool, and yeah, no hugs this time (Tony, I'm sorry, but our relationship well, isn't like that...) Guess I'll start up writing something for next week. Last question I swear. When does the Civil War occur?
