Booker T

Recommended Posts

Book used to be entertaining and a great tag team wrestler, but nowadays he is nothing more than jobber to the stars and this sudden push he's been getting is a little too late.

Oh I gotta disagree with some of this. I think Angle was seriously hurt by the whole Booker feud. In fact that was the cherry on top of what has been a truly horrid last few months for Kurt. He tried to rape Sharmell and totally embarrassed himself there, and also got his ass beat down. Taz kicked his ass at the ECW PPV. He gets traded back to Raw for literally 1 reason: jobbing to Michaels. Then he gets to lose his gold medals to a retard.

They outta have him either go back to feuding with Shawn again in a rubber match or maybe he could feud with RVD in a contender type feud once he gets back.

In a word, yes. Very much so.

I can't disagree though I havent seen the match in years (i do have it on a tape somewhere). It was dreadful, but then again having Booker face Bagwell was probably not a good idea. Perhaps the two were nervous? who knows.

They did house show matches that weekend --- and, by reports, they also sucked horribly. And the crowd shat on those matches, as well.

Booker was good in WCW it's just a shame he hasn't been treated as well be WWE.

It's easy to look good amidst a horribly depleted roster. Put Booker in a deeper, more talented roster and he'd be overshadowed by a lot of guys. Booker wasn't pushed as a top guy until everybody left.

I'll also say this: WCW's smaller rings probably helped mask Booker's slowness --- and he also worked with slow guys (Jarrett, Nash, and Steiner ain't quick), which helped.

I can see if people are complaining about someone like RVD having to "work WWE style" seeing as he did so many innovative things in ECW. But honestly, where do people get the idea that 2000 WCW style was better than what was going on in the WWF?

"WWE style" improved RVD's work quite a bit, but that's another argument.

The biggest reason the crowd killed Booker/Buff in Tacoma was they were conditioned to. Have been for years. They have been told for years WCW was second rate and WWF/E was always top dog. What drew the crowd was WWF. What they got at the end was a WCW match, and with guys who were not associated as THE stars of WCW. Sorry, even though Booker was on top at the end, when Booker was on top in WCW, it was at it's lowest point ever. It didn't help Booker and Buff had one of the crappiest matches ever, but the crowd was going to hate it no matter what IMO.

But, reports from the weekend heading in, said the crowd shat all over the match before it hit RAW. It was just a bad match that nobody wanted.

Though, I'm kinda glad they didn't lead off with Booker v DDP, because that might have gotten shat on, too.

Just the same. Bottom line is a WCW match on a WWF card is going to get crapped on whether it's on TV or not because the WWF crowd doesn't want to see that. They came for WWF. Now, if it were an interpromtional match featuring a guy from WCW vs WWF, it'd be a different reaction.
