Guest JMA Report post Posted July 17, 2005 That's a pretty big drop-off for Fantastic Four.

Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 I think FF should get a sequel; it showed a lot of promise IMO. What was FF's budget? Good for Wedding Crashers too. That movie was funnier than it had any right to be.
Guest JMA Report post Posted July 17, 2005 It's the 194th steepest drop of all time <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep. You are correct there. Right below Constantine and right above The Day After Tomorrow.

Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Oh, good. 194th doesn't sound that bad as say, 9th steepest. I suspect I'm reading that the wrnong way though.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 It's not a horrible drop considering it's a comic book movie. Most comic book films have steep drops like that
Guest JMA Report post Posted July 17, 2005 It's not a horrible drop considering it's a comic book movie. Most comic book films have steep drops like that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's certainly not as bad a drop as Hulk had. And even that movie could be getting a sequel... SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 The Friday it came out, it seemed like all the internet hacks and professional reviewers were so down on it, and many were sure it was going to bomb. Now we see that its made its money back in 2 weeks. Any chance of a Fanastic Four sequel?
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 "5 3 Batman Begins WB $5,620,000" Still chugging along admirably. No big surprise for #1, but Wedding Crashers doing so well seems surprising. I guess the slump is really over.

It certainly isn't a bomb by any measure, though. Anyway, I suspect that FF will get a sequel. I believe it'll make enough money to warrant one.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Yeah but most of those big drops were nothing movies anyway...like something opened at 2 million and then made zilch the next week. I mean Gigli opened at about 6 million and made maybe 1 million the next week. Wedding Crashers will be a bigger overall success than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I think. Charlie had a crazy 150 million budget, which it might struggle to make back. Crashers had a 40 million budget and should easily make a big profit.
