According to IMDB, the following are scheduled to be released in 2006:

RAMBO IV (starring Sylvester Stallone)

Indiana Jones IV (starring Harrison Ford)

and

Die Hard 4.0 (starring Bruce Willis)

(Note: Mel Gibson almost signed on to do Mad Max IV, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon...)

In an era where studios depend on mostly CGI to render action effects, it will be refreshing to see the action films that not only spearheaded the action/adventure genre, but are also very notable for their exceptional stunt work.

I hope Die Hard 4.0 is anywhere near as good as With A Vengeance. It's been a while, so it most likely will be, and I think the John McClaine character is human enough where the 10-year difference between films could definitely shape it a certain way.

My only quibble about Die Hard IV is that Justin Timberlake is in talks to play Bruce Willis' son.

Which is even funnier, considering Jessica Simpson auditioned for the role of McClaine's daughter, but was fortunately rejected.

There have been a lot of rumors of Eddie Murphy doing another Beverly Hills Cop, although I'm not sure if he fits in the aging hollywood star category yet.

What about a Dr. Dolittle meets the Nutty Professor movie.... this time it would follow the adventures of Raven Simone as a college student of Dr. Klump. Eddie Murphy will out do himself as he plays every member of the Klump family and Charlie Murphy plays the evil Dean of the Science department out to get Dr. Klump fired from the university. Dave Chapelle would make a cameo appearence as the stoner janitor that is roomates with Method Man & Redman, Eddie Griffin would also make a cameo as TJ the pimp from Deuce Bigalow, also Regina Hall and Regina King would play the wives to the Murphy brothers.

As far as I know, Beverly Hills Cop 4 was never on Eddie Murphy's radar

Murphy is doing a heist comedy with Chris Rock that's due out in 06.
