LTP 2005 Feedback

Recommended Posts

The show is up in Home Entertainment.

I'm so damn tired after having to juggle so many things. Out of my 3 + years posting shows, LTP was by far the hardest I've had to work putting together a PPV, and without question the one I'm most proudest of. Hopefully you all enjoy the show.

Papacita once again did a fantastic job with the graphics.

Awesome job on the graphics.

The opening segment was hilarious. Jesse dropping the "I ain't got time to bleed" line got an LOL out of me.

Great old school stuff in the tag match. It really is a throwback to the Midnights of old. But I used the president masks first! :P

Funny stuff with Popick and the Cow. I thought it was just going to be a jobber named "The Cow", but...only in the OAOAST. :)

Jenny/Brodie was very good. I liked the mention of the little girls crying in the crowd. My mom was in my room with me and my brother last week while we were watching this year's Rumble on DVD, and they showed the kids crying during the UT/Heidenrich package, and she started going on about how parents shouldn't be taking their kids to the events. Hopefully this doesn't sound sexist, but it's just funny to imagine that happening in a match involving two women, for some reason.

Hoff/Brock seemed kind of rushed, for obvious reasons, but it was still fun to read. I like how he uses emoticons for some of the commentary.

Widow/Lilith was quick and to the point. I liked Widow's promo a lot, and the random kickout times.

That Jesse Ventura, he's a smart man.

My match commentary was lacking even more than usual...I was originally planning to send it to someone and have them add in commentary, but I didn't finish it as soon as I thought I would, so I just went back and added it in myself.

Good VX/Parka stuff...this is probably a dumb question, but is it just a coincidence that there's a character named Vitamin X as well as the poster, or was he in the OAOAST during my absence and you just kept using his character?

Zack/Black was tremendous, and the ending really helped get Drek/GPX over as monster heels. Interesting to see what comes of the supposed deal with Dan Black.

Ultimate X was awesome. Great match concept, and some sort of story between everyone involved, it seemed. Tremendous.

The ME seemed a little rushed, but really seemed to advance a story between CWM and Tony...perhaps heading toward a collision course at AS?

Great show overall. Also interested to see who our new GM will be.

First of all, props to Tony on a great PPV. Everything seemed to flow very, very well.

The opening was, as Alf said, hilarious. All those WrestleCrap gimmicks in one. Awesome job there. Also, I think its a mark to Hoff that half the guys on the roster seem to be using :o in their commentary.

Great opener. These two teams have been feuding for what seems like ages now, but it doesn't get tiring as they are both written very, very well. Not sure if it was Eski or Tony, but whoever it was, great job.

Good character development by VX, seems like a real asshole.

Popick's little squash was fun.

Man, great women's brawl between Jenny and Brodie. Feel the hatred! And the blood! I didn't expect this match to be as bloody as it was, but it was very well written. Really put over the intensity of the bout. Well done.

Well done to Hoff with what time he had. Great finish, and served to further the Axel/Hoff feud. I'll agree that it was rushed, but Hoff did well in the time.

Nice little match between Black Widow and Lilian. Could have been longer, but hey, no matter.

More feedback VERY SOON~! I'm really looking forward to reading Ultimate X, as well as the Heartland title match which I'm about to read right now. Good stuff so far.

Parka/VX wasn't supposed to be an announced match. So it shouldn't have been mentioned at the beginning of the show, but that's my only complaint.

Alfdogg: Vitamin X the poster originally brought the character to the OAOAST and then he left, but he let PRL use the character from then on.

I wrote both the backstage VX segment and the Parka/VX match so hopefully it was good. I'm a bit rusty after all this time off. I swore the match looked longer when I wrote it.

Er...when the intergender match gets edited in, could they change it so her name is Lillith again, not Lillan?

Funny opening.

Geez, even I'm thinking about what Holly looks like! Nice opening match, and I really found myself loving the commentary during this match. It was a different routine. I liked it.

A cow? Whatta a debut for animals everywhere! I did like the picture though.

Good match by Sly there. He knows how much I liked it, so I won't gush here.

More to come, of course.

Guest Black Widow
Nice little match between Black Widow and Lilian. Could have been longer, but hey, no matter.

I know... it was short and not very good. :P I definitely don't have the passion you kids have for this.

Plus, the 2 people who recommended me to join... 1 went nuts and is banned, and the other I'm not on speaking terms with.

It was fun, you have a good feel for how the character works, just spell my character's name correctly next time

I actually had more ideas for my part of UX (the ending), but I couldn't really fit them in once I actually started writing.

I liked the Rubix Cube look of the graphics this time around.

Good as usual tag match with some good commentary written in, something I sometimes have trouble with. Another woman for the women's division? Fine with me.

Pimp Mah Vitamin! Would you believe I actually LIKE that show?

A Cow huh? I won't judge.

Brutal women's match. The intensity was there and there were some cringe-worthy spots. Brodie's sure getting over as a sick bad-ass.

More to come.

Note: The intergender tag match has been edited into the show.

Onto some feedback.

After half-assing the opening for months, I finally did one I'm proud of. It continued to play up the James Bond factor (LTP named after Licence to Kill), and I tried to capture the mood of the WCW mini-movies with cheese and corny dialogue. And I finally got to use the multi-color BOOM NYU started using when he began co-producing the PPVs.

I'm actually surprised at the feedback I've gotten for the opening tag match. I spent most of last week writing the DQ skit for HD, which ended up getting completely rewritten, leaving me 3 days to finish the tag match. You know the story by now. I got lazy and ended up having to write the entire match the day of the show, including all the segments with Schiavone and Ventura, and I felt the match suffered cause of it. The part where the NNMX work over the arm and then we go straight to the hot tag standing out the most.

I thought the Hoff/Ausstin match was pretty damn good. HAPPY HAPPY HOSS DANCE! I've always wanted to write that.

The street fight was great. Loved the DVD onto ring apron and Blackout off the top spots. Drek Stone and the GPX came off looking really strong at the end.

What's left to be said about Ultimate X? It was awesome. And it went on second to last. You're welcome, guys. :)

Minor correction: "Simply Ravishing" is Rude's second WCW theme. The great thing about it is, I don't believe there's any reference to Rude besides "Rude Awakening". I could be wrong, but it's been awhile since I've listened to the Slam Jam CD. Yes, I own it.

Excellent main event. I apologize for not being able to help out. With everything I had to do that day, it worked out for the best.

Will leave feedback for the rest later. LTP isn't cursed!

I sorta wanted to wait for Otaku's match to come in, and there it is. Everything looked very well put together, with of course the unsanctioned match standing out, that was EXTREME~! Kudos to everyone for a very well done show, but for some reason my characters give people spelling trouble, it's the Bubblegum Crash

To finish up...

Having basically become Alf's #1 supporter since his return, it's no surprise that I thought the Heartland Title match was very good. I liked how it started with wrestling and broke down into a brawl towards the end. Good stuff.

Damn good Bounty match, maybe Match of the Night.

SJ/Cow, Widow/Lillith, Parka/X were all short but entertaining matches. The Cow graphic was funny.

One thing you can't knock Ed on, is he brings the content.

Finished.
