One of my biggest problems, and this is something that even the WWE doesn't do, was the commercials.  My god the commercials.  Those COQ ROQ commercials lasted longer than the majority of the matches.  I know it's only their second live show on cable, but goddamn, they need better production.  They just weren't ready for it.

 

However, I have to say, I was impressed that they got as many sponsors as they did - US Army, Toyota, BK, Four Brothers (A movie choosing to advertise on UFC, that's huge IMO).  Sponsorship is the one of the most (Thee most) important things in television, hopefully it is sustained.

 

I still have a bad taste in my mouth about the show, hopefully the UFC PPV (St Pierre/Trigg!!!) will wash it out.  Plus the Unleashed shows and TUF II.  There's nothing worse than a bad match and bad calls, and this show had both of em.  That's it, I'm never doing a preview of a show ever again.  Clearly, I am bad luck.  Sorry, it's all my fault.

Indeed. It was actually pretty boring. It gave me the impression that it was the Velocity of UFC.

I liked the show but the UFC were insane by putting Salaverry in the ME. He has no fighting spirit (i.e. marketability) and he's boring to boot. That was not a good note to end the show on.

I was very pissed to take a break from work while this was on, turn it on and have the fucking COQ ROQ commercial playing, and then have some stupid bitch change it when it was coming back.

 

I want to download this and just bypass the goddamn commercials.

SPIKE is replaying it tonight, but with KenFLO~! vs. Karelexis instead of Salaverry vs. Marquardt.

Salaverry was dropped by the UFC. Also, the Unleashed show today is supposed to have Liddel vs Horn.
