DMann2003 Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 My favorite sitcom growing up is in the middle of a 48 MARATHON on TV Land right now. That's 96 episodes and I'm DVR'ing every one of them. The show's gonna settle into an 11:30 timeslot starting Monday's. I'm so happy the show's back on cable. Dan Fielding's the man!!!
CheesalaIsGood Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 That episode with the old guy with "Turtle Nervousa" or whatever it was called was fall down fucking funny.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 What time did the Marathon begin?
DMann2003 Posted August 13, 2005 Author Report Posted August 13, 2005 Began at 6AM this morning, goes through till 6AM Monday morning
Guest El Satanico Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I love the show, but I'm not going to watch much of this marathon. With it having a spot on the regular schedule, I'll be watching it alot. Marathon plus watching it on a regular basis can lead to being burnt out on repeats.

Guest darealdeal21 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 NIght Court LOL, i forgot about that one. Dont you love DVR
SuperJerk Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Its weird watching this show now. This show was probably responsible for the "squeeze as many dirty jokes as you can into 30 minutes" genre that later spawned "Married with Children" and "Friends", but it all seems pretty pedestrian now. Nonetheless, Dan Fielding was TV's original sitcom pimp. Still, Markie Post's inherent hotness was severely under-utilized. Despite her awesome (at the time) body, they managed to bury her under 3 layers of ugly fashions and 4 gallons of hairspray each week.
DMann2003 Posted August 14, 2005 Author Report Posted August 14, 2005 Don't forget that mullet she sported early in her first couple of seasons
Hank Kingsley Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Thanks for telling me about this show. I've been watching it on and off all day and I love it.
SuperJerk Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Anybody know what the deal was with the multiple cast changes the first season? I understand the bailiffs kept dying, but weren't there about a few dozen defense attorneys before they finally settled on Markie Post. (I actually kind of liked Billie.)
Vampiro69 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Probably had something to do with unhappy actors or writers not able to get a handle on their characters. I agree with the person who stated that they buried Markie Post under too much makeup and bad fashion. She was a fine lady.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 It was the 80's, and that was how professional women looked in that terrible fashion era.
SuperJerk Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 If they could work out gags with Bull in his underwear a dozen times, they could've gotten Christine in her underwear at least once or twice.
Vampiro69 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 If they could work out gags with Bull in his underwear a dozen times, they could've gotten Christine in her underwear at least once or twice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You speak such wise words.
Guest Dale Earnhardt Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 They did do one flashback episode where they showed Christine in a beauty pageant. It's probably the only episode where you could actually see a little of skin from her but there you go. I love Night Court, it was my favorite show growing up. I wasn't a big fan of the pre-Christine episodes so I'll have to wait for TV Land to reach those episodes when it becomes a regular fixture tomorrow night.
Vern Gagne Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Didn't Clinton nail Markie Post? The Show itself does nothing for me. I find it to be one of the most unfunny and horrible sitcoms in tv history. I said all this yet, have watched enough of the marathon to know that in two episodes they had a huge case load. In one episode, the final case involved a guy who was took 10 minutes to put together a sentence, and the other involved the turtle man.
Scroby Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Thank you TV Land....Thank you Now when the fuck is season 2 coming out on DVD!?

I'd really like to see a Night Court Reunion special just to see how the whole cast is doing because with the exception of Richard Moll, none of them have done anything recently.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Markie Post was in There's Something about Mary, as Mary's mother. Larroquete had another short-lived sitcom a few seasons ago.
Vampiro69 Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Laroquette has a show on A&E right now where he plays either a lawyer or a police detective. Haven't seen the show, but have heard that it isn't to shaby.

Spaceman Spiff Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Laroquette *should* have been on NewsRadio after Hartman died. And continuing the NewsRadio connections, Stephen Root (Jimmy James) appeared in an episode of Night Court.

Haven't seen the show, but have heard that it isn't to shaby. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's McBride. I've seen a couple of episodes; it's pretty good. I don't think it's on A&E, though.
chuck415 Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 There was an episode of Night Court whereDan saved Christine's life and to pay him back she was going to have sex with him. She wore some lingerie in that ep if I remember correctly. Quite the old school hottie. BTW what the fuck has Richard Moll been in lately?
Guest Dale Earnhardt Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 I remember seeing him in a Nickelodeon show and some homosexual movie. Both of which while I was flipping through channels all within the last 5 years.
Darthtiki Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Markie Post did Harts Afire after Night Court, which was a tremendously funny show even if a lot of the jokes were directed at people of my political persuasion.
Vampiro69 Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 Richard Moll also played Two-Face on Batman the Animated Series. Quick question though did Moll play one of the Kryptonian prisoners from Sperman II? I thought one of the villians looked like him but I wasn't sure. Laroquette on NewsRadio would have been great, except that he had his own show on NBC at the same time.
