Back to School

Summer's bloom is fading away now as we head into the autumn's leaves.

Alot of us here I'm sure are headed back for another year of college or high school or by the looks of some people here, junior high.

I am returning to education myself. I graduated high school in 2004 and decided to be one of those "I'm taking a year off to "discover" myself" people.

The truth was, I couldn't afford college on my own and felt the smart move would be to work and save up money so i don't fall dramatically into debt.

I think i made the wise move. I knew what college I would attend regardless if I had not waited.

University of Miami(OH).

I will attend it's sister branch the first year, which allows me to commute rather easily and continue to work my well paying job (that has even offered to pay for my books as a "bonus")

I'm slightly excited, slightly concerned because I haven't been in that environment of education in over 14 months. I was a good student so I'm not worried about being able to handle the work load. It's a commuter school, so it's not a social goldmind either.

I just wonder if that 14 month layoff will hurt me.

Any one else have any "back to school" stories, concerns, comments, insults to share?

I never went back to school after graduating highschool.

I got accepted to a couple of different places but I was too young for the first place and applied too late for the 2nd place so by the time they notified me I was accepted it would've been too much of a hassle to get everything set up that I needed to. Good enough anyway because really I had no idea on what I wanted to do and was just doing whatever.

I never tried again after that mostly for the reason that I have no idea on what I wanted to do plus the fear if I did do something I'd be shutting the door on something else. Than you have the money issues which scared me like anything.

Maybe my biggest concern right now is that I've forgotten so much stuff that I think it would hinder me if I did go back.

Its also a damn good school, congrats.  Good luck on nailing some of those Oxford chicks.

I've been around alot of colleges and I strongly believe Oxford has the hottest quality girls of any college and they aren't shy at all.

Great education, great city and AMAZING chicks.

I won't lie, the quality of females there was a contributing factor in my decision to go to Miami.

I'll be returning to East Stroudsburg University for my sophomore year, move in day in Sunday. It's a tiny school of about 6,000 at the foothills of the Pocono Moutains in eastern Pennsylvania. About an hour plus trip straight west from where I live in New Jersey.

What sucks is I'm really not ready to go back yet, not that this has been an amazing summer that I don't want to end, but because I don't have anything ready to go. What really screwed me was I thought today was Tuesday, and I found out at 8:00 tonight that it's actually Wednesday.
