Fökai 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2005 Neither man should play the heel; this shouldn't be played out as 'good v. evil', or 'good v. less good', but strictly the top two performers of the past two decades. Austin shouldn't play catch-up in a promo to Hogan's heat and vice-versa. It's a matter of simply dividing the fams until the blowoff at Mania. If played out right, especially with the usual hot crowd in Chicago, the reactions to these guys are going to be etched into our memory forever. I'm not really excited about the Austin/Hogan program right now, but given the promos, video packages and retrospectives that this match will generate, which spans every significant angle in that time, March 2006 is going to be a HELL of a month for WWE television. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2005 Eh, I want an angry Austin/Hogan program over a respectful one, just for the ultimate dressing down of the Hogan character that Austin will probably launch into early on during the feud: "Look at 'cha. You got your little doo-rag on. You've your sunglasses. You got your boots with your little mug on 'em, hey look at me when I'm talking to you, you son of a bitch. You got what looks like the dead body of Big Bird wrapped around your neck. You got a T-shirt just so that you can rip it off. Am I supposed to be scared? Is that supposed to impress me that you can tear a t-shirt in two? Is that supposed to excite all these people? Because if you think that gets 'em fired up wait'll you see what they sound like when I whip your ass from pillar to post." Of course, by that point, the crowd would be in "What?" mode, which kind of kills Hogan's promo style dead.

Here's hoping that Shawn becomes a heel again tonight. I know it's unlikely, but I can hope.
caboose 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 After tonight's opening promo, a tweener role may be the best thing for Michaels.
