Guest Hybrid420 Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Yeah, the title and descriptiona re pretty much self explanatory.
Guest Coffey Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Well, let's see. First of all, Gail Kim, Molly Holly, Nidia & Jazz were all fired. Lita was injured. Trish got hurt. Victoria couldn't decide if she was a heel or a face and started pulling Heat duty. Who else is there?
CanadianChick Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 The Diva Search started, and Vince decided that was the direction he wanted females in WWE to go. I'm guessing it's because WWE was at it's most popular in 2000, and there was only T&A back then, so surely that is the path to success.
spman Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 There's only two women wrestlers left, Victoria and Trish. I say just get rid of all the women.
Dips Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Trish has to stay - she used to manage to get more heat than most of the other wrestlers on Raw.
AndrewTS Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 I guess it'll resume to some extent when Trish comes back. Slam looks to be likely, because she's already working house shows. Since Vicky's been acting as the Heart Throbs' beard, I'm guessing she hooks up with a tag team and we'll have a stupid, pointless intergender/mixed tag feud and throw in Roseycane and Stacy, because it's not like the Raw tag division means anything.

God help us.
Silence Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Good lord, that would mean we'd have to see Stacy Kiebler try and wrestler again. God help us.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> We'd also see WWE having Stacy dominate Victoria in any match they have against each other, despite Victoria having more talent than Stacy.

Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Molly took what was left of the division with her when she left.
Guest Ransome Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 In 2002, WWE may have just had their best 'serious' women's division ever, with the combination of Trish, Jazz, Molly and Victoria. In those days, they certainly allocated it more airtime than, say, the Cruiserweight title. They permanently derailed the division with Jazz and Molly were ousted, I assume mainly due to the imminent phasing in of Diva Search contestants. The Women's title may have never been that important throughout its entire lineage, but it has given Trish Stratus a chance to emerge as perhaps the best all-around women's wrestler they've ever had and a great heel. Other than that, does the title have a purpose anymore? Especially in the post-Diva Search WWE, I don't think it does or ever will again.
TheFranchise Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 What ever happened... To the women's division? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> She got injured.
Enigma Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 They permanently derailed the division with Jazz and Molly were ousted, I assume mainly due to the imminent phasing in of Diva Search contestants. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Molly Holly was not ousted. She quit the night she had to job to Christy Hemme for her WM21 buildup.

The release request did occur at about the same time but had nothing to do with jobbing to lesser talents. Molly never had a problem doing jobs for anyone, including Christy.
Dips Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Celtic Guardian is right, you should see what she had to say in her shoot interview as to why she quit - it's on the Torch site I think.
