Ludvig Borga is/was a member of parliment in Finland, and shot himself in the foot, literally, a few years ago.

Here's a detailed account of what happened, according to a 1Wrestling.com reader. Originally, I had thought that it was his wife that had shot him...

"Hi, I'm a Finnish wrestling fan and wanted to clarify something on the news article on your site concerning Ludvig Borga, or Tony Halme, and the shooting-incident that took place a while ago here in Helsinki.

Firstly, the shooting took place a week ago on Thursday (on the 3rd of July), not last Thursday as it was reported on the site. Secondly, the shooter was Ludvig Borga himself, not the wife. The story that the papers are telling here in Finland now is that after a night out drinking, Mr. Halme came home and had a fight with his wife. He then exited the appartment and returned a few hours later, even more entoxicated than the last time. He again had a fight with his wife, and during this fight, he got a handheld semiautomatic pistol from a drawer and waved it around. Please note that there is no indication that he was going to use the gun, it is possible that he just wanted to prove a point by holding the gun. The wife then tried to take the gun away from him, but it accidentally went off and shot a single shot. The wife then screamed and ran out of the appartment, went next door and called the police. No one was hurt by the actual gun shot.

When the police arrived at the scene, Halme was found unconscious lying on the couch. He was taken to a hospital, where he stayed in a coma for several days, and only woke up a few days ago. The police raided his office in the Finnish Parliament, apparently looking for drugs about a day after the incident, and reportedly found some illegal steroids and painkillers which, when used excessively and with alcohol, can have fatal results. Ironically, if he had died due to the use of these drugs, it would have been yet another drug-death in the wrestling world, even though Halme has not technically been a part of wrestling for a very long time.

So that's the story as it stands right now. Halme is currently awake in the hospital, but still in such a state that the police can't question him yet.

Thank you, and keep up the good work!"
