notJames Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 The first SmackDown! after SummerSlam will include a monster main event as World Heavyweight Champion Batista, United States Champion Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio team up to face JBL, Orlando Jordan and Eddie Guerrero. Weird seeing EDDY~! teaming up with JBL after all the shit that went on between them during their feud. Gotta love wrestling's insistence on destroying continuity… unless of course they address it beforehand. Meanwhile, Booker T & Sharmell will be Christian's guest on the Peep Show. From one soap opera angle to another. Who will get custody of the Spinaroonie? Please, won't someone think of the Spinaroonie?!?!? The No Holds Barred Match turned out to suit Batista just fine as the World Heavyweight Champion defended his championship by defeating JBL at SummerSlam. Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio regained custody of Dominick in a wild Ladder Match against Eddie Guerrero. Plus, Randy Orton, with the help of his father Cowboy Bob, defeated Undertaker. Can't wait for that segment… to be over. And SmackDown! has a new United States Champion as Chris Benoit made Orlando Jordan tap out in a matter of seconds. Don’t miss the first SmackDown! after SummerSlam on UPN (8/7) CT. Unless you have something more constructive to do, like clean your toilet or delouse your family pet… Prediction: 3 pages by Friday noon. But just barely.
Team Angle Pusher Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 I like the main event. I don't like Booker T and his annoying wife on the Peep Show because they just HAD a fucking feud, unless they are doing a stupid mini-feud that Booker T will probably win. **Did anyone see Byte This about Christy and Stacy? They mention the pillow fight and the network not allowing it and I'm like WTF that is being aired tonight....**
claydude14 Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 Yea I caught that Byte this. I thought it was weird they'd spoil part of Smackdown! like that.
Downhome Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Three posts so far (four now), and SD just came on. I'm impressed.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 So is Cowboy Bob gonna be Randy's valet from now on?
Gert T Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I'm only watching until the Benoit-OJ recap segement. After that, I may flip back to the main event.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I wonder if Sr. is going to be his son's manager..or if this is just one of those 1 time deals.
Downhome Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I'm actually enjoying this match so far. They are really putting over Hardcore's finisher here, nice little escapes by Orton.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I'm actually enjoying this match so far. They are really putting over Hardcore's finisher here, nice little escapes by Orton. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hopefully they don't put it over TOO much. THat could mean another Holly World Title match ala Royal Rumble 04.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 That was better than it should have been, some how.
Downhome Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I know that no one wants it, but one day Holly will not only get a shot at the title again...he'll win it. I predicted JBL would do it, and I think they'll give it to Holly down the line some day. That was a perfectly acceptable TV match right there, so I'm ok with SD so far tonight.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 AHA OMG "The Network" Why couldn't it have been Cyrus?
ChrisMWaters Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 ...scary thought. WWE Tag Team Champions: "Cowboy" Bob and Randy Orton. ...Mr. Network is here. ...doesn't work without Cyrus.
Downhome Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Ok, who is this guy? And isn't that great guy from Velocity, Ken Kennedy, supposed to make his SD debut tonight? Well, I thought he was great anyway.
jwpeer Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 That match was pretty solid actually, lot of good psychology going on and two good alabama slam spots (no matter how lame that finisher really is)
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 A 3rd JBL/Batista match though..whats the point..unless its like, Hell in a Cell, which they wouldn't give away for free on TV even for the Season Premier of Smackdown on a new night. They did do Brock/Angle Ironman match 2 years ago for the season premiere..
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Somebody buy Christian a razor and some shaving cream so he can ditch that beard.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 What has Booker done lately? Uh..
ChrisMWaters Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Besides Rey...when have Cruiserweights gotten such high profile (OK, for Cruiserweights) situations?
Spaceman Spiff Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 London/Kidman after they split up. They got mic time (!) on SD.
Spaceman Spiff Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 And Holly/Orton practically put me to sleep.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Man...the crowd is dead for the most part for this match. *Remembers when people were actually chanting "Heidenreich". Course, that's back when he had the cool music.*
Guest *KNK* Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 That was so awesome. This needs to be his new gimmick. Beats people in set amount of time and do little things like that.
ChrisMWaters Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 What the hell did Tazz say Christian looked like?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 I still think they should be called D-Mex.. And is John Deer the lawnmower of choice for tricking out..I've seen the lawnmower racing and they just use the cheap ones. Funny that WWE spends the money for them to have John Deer lawn mowers..
Downhome Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 What the hell? They finish off Booker T with a damn double back suplex!?
ChrisMWaters Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 What the hell? They finish off Booker T with a damn double back suplex!? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So...um... How many times have Booker T and Christian feuded since Booker T debuted in WWF/E?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Lets Promote Taker's DVD! -- More Randy Orton? I guess the Network really does want SD to flail like a fish out of water..
